eBay HID kit is awsome..!
I have a 6000k kit that appears almost silver, if silver could be a color of light. They are not white, but not blue either.
xenithxenons.com just released a HID kit that will actually focus the beam more like a factory xenon lens instead of a "generic" kit.
As a member of law enforcement, when everyone says that HIDs are illegal, at least in Illinois, the only thing applicable is color. Only emergency vehicle can display illuminated blue lights.
Brightness can only be enforced when it applies to failing to dim the headlights from hi-beam to low within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle.
Poorly aimed / bright low beam lights are not enforcible unless they are "blue".
I have not seen "blue" tested in court.

Love the post about aiming the headlights down. See so many Honda **** rockets up here with the HL aimed so far down to avoid glare the Light is going backwards
