97 E320 carsoft codes
I finnally got around to buying my carsoft multiplexer. Works good, not the greates but I can diagnose most system. I will put up more infor about the scanner I purchased later. It was about $130 online completed with software.
any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.
I cleared these codes and they returned.
To the point:
ME code 410 Secondary air enjection malfunction.
* I hear the pump come on I have checked for leaks and all valves
seem to have the correct voltage
Inst. Cluster code B1755 Serial port K2 from KLA/TAU panel with the instrument cluster: open circuit
it also says "verify cable connection between Inst. cluster and KLA/TAU panel"
* I pulled the cluster and checked the cables. all connections are good and cables also. and my cluster is working fine. I see no issues with it.
EGS codes:
147 Gang not plausible or Gear box rutscht
151 Gear comp. negative oe selected gear not reached.
* the tranny was stuck in 1st, would not shift. I took it to a shop and they replaced a board on the tranny. car runs now but sometimes ****fs hard into 2nd. I checked for dirt/oil around plugs on tranny by pass. side and also checked the shifter area for spilled liquids or dirt. everything clean.
PSE code:
B1221
B1220
*no info on these. everywhere i search it says "not applicable for U.S. models"
mybe i dont have an US
model but i relate that to the lumbar controls since they have not worked for some time now.
thanks in advance for any info shared.

Regarding the B1755 - did you unseat the cable connections at the back of the cluster and then reinsert? When it comes to the electronics on these cars -- think computer.
As far as US model, plug your VIN in at this site and check the codes for things like US dealer, etc.
http://old.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng
I checked my list of MB DTC's and B1220 and B1221 were not listed.
Good luck.

thanks for the link. It provided some good info.
I did the reseating but I guess i will follow the cables all the way and see where it leads. I am not to concerned since the cluster works fine.
the 2 PSE codes I heave learned that i can ignore. The computer will always show them since they are not an option on my model. At least that is what I have come to learn from the massive reaserch I have done about these in the last few days.
thanks for your input.
I did resolve the 410 code after digging some more under the head's plastic cover and finding a cracked hard plastic hose. I replaced it and hope the code doesnt return.

A search for 'Carsoft 7.4' on eBay motors will give a list of several. All of which are in the mainland China. Most are reverse engineered electronics and a bootleg copy of old Carsoft, Int. software. You also need a laptop preferably with a built in 9 pin D shell serial port. USB/serial and PCMCIA/serial adapters may/may not work.

Should I stay away from the ones on EBay? Whats your opinion?

I think those are the only ones available. A year or two ago there were a couple of eBay sellers in the US selling the same thing for about the same price. All of a sudden they disappeared. Not the cos. just the listing for the scanner.
I've read 3 or 4 posts by individuals who purchased from China. Everyone seems to have received their units. So there doesn't seem to be a problem there.
Also, I notice you have a MY04. The ads often state that the units don't work on cars newer than MY04. So whether it works on your 230 might be iffy.
I think the real issue is can you really use the data. If you have an OBD II scanner (HF ~$50), you know that the codes retrieved often require some interpretation. Now multiply that by 1000 and remember that most of us out here don't have any clue as to what the codes mean. But if you have $130 to spend and are curious have fun.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I will make a post about my carsoft multiplexer shortly. I orderd the scanner from the US. Washington to be exact. works from 1987 to 2003 models. I will collect all the DATA and post the link and some screen shots of the software. Also, RichardM98 and E-420 are correct. you must have a laptop with a built-in DB9 serial port (9 pin)

You can also order the multiplexer from dealextreeme for 105 + free shipping. Takes about two weeks to get (from HK) but if your willing to wait awhile its worth it. I bought mine a year ago and use it to T/Shoot all my cars (MB's that is). It has saved me thousands.

the problem comes when you get a bad unit or it stops working in a few days and have to pay shipping back to china. And that is not worth it in my opinion.
