Exclamation Engine Oil Level Low

I was driving today, and my dashboard said it's low on oil level. Stopped at a nearest gas station, pulled the dipstick out, and the it covered the part between MIN and MAX, about quarter way up from the MIN. My last oil change was about a month ago, and my next service is in 7800K miles (it was 10K miles when I changed oil) and yest it was full. Since I bought the car, I haven't seen any oil leaks what so ever. Engine is dry as it can get. No oil drips on side of engine, no where. I park on the white driveway, and never seen any drip of oil on the driveway, not even a drop. What can be wrong? Where is that oil going? It's saying I have to add 1.5 quarts. I need some big help

hey Zheka...color of oil on dipstick should be good enough to tell without draining.....or, with a cold engine, (someone correct me if i am wrong) you can remove the filter and replace it with a new one, if it's dirty and/or plugged up....i believe it holds about a quart?!?....

...what do you mean, "the oil was 'full'", as in, after changing oil and filter, you ran the engine for a few minutes, then checked the level and added more, then checked again?!? or what...

...have you added 1.5qts already?....if it's burning it, you'd smell it....around the engine or in the coolant....along with oil (brownish color may also be rust in radiator and not oil in coolant!) in the coolant...

.....basically ....check all gaskets for tell tale signs....check the drain plug/washer....etc...

the oil was changed at a shop, and before I left, I made sure its full, and stuff like that.... I just checked the the coolant, and its pure green, so no sign of oil being there. I checked the oil, and it seems pretty dirty. The oil on the dipstick was darker brownish color, than the dipstick itself, not too much darker. And when putting on hand, it was pretty dark brownish.

x2 pm OhLord ...my best guess is bad/dirty filter....what kinda oil you got in it?....you need synth mobil1 5w30 maybe 5w40 in hotter climates....RnR oil/filter/plug, get a baseline and go from there...good luck!
