Sat antenna question....

Just bought another 210 wagon for the dog/shop today, and need to get my sat radio going. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a placement and/or type of antenna for the 210 wagon? Thanks in advance....

Sirius makes an auto kit. Actually it's the default setup. It has a mag mount and the best place is at the back of the roof near the tailgate. I routed the coax in thru the top of the tailgate and didn't have a water leakage problems. YMMV.

You could buy a 'Y' adapter and connect to the car's built-in antenna. That worked fine for my 2-meter ham radio but I didn't try it with the satellite radio.

Zam2000 put his satellite antenna on the wiper cowling instead of the roof or trunk lid. I think it looks much cleaner that way. If you look in this thread you will see pics.

I copied him but hid my antenna under the plastic cowling for the ultimate in stealth. I ended up using a small XM antenna from Ebay for about $10 to fit since the Sirius antenna was too large. Reception cuts out occasionally but I'm more then happy with it.

The cleanest installation would be the antenna used on W211 for the first few years. I'd mount it in center rear of roof just far enough forward to clear the liftgate, i.e. just behind the phone/nav antenna if you have that. These are (perhaps "were") available prepainted in several OE colors and there's a primed version ready for painting your color.

In case you can't read the part numbers on the attachment, they are in the form B6 783 008x
