How do I get to the subwoofer in my E300 TD?

I would like to fix or possibly replace the subwoofer in my car but I'm not sure how to get to the subwoofer. Any help is much appreciated.

Not sure at all, maybe the speakers are the source of the problem. The sound is just a little off. I have the Bose system by the way.

from memory (at work now) there is no sub. I have a powered one with 2
10"s which i'm about to put into the trunk. the speaker above the rear deck
is only about 6". i have the Bose also. pretty sad. cant believe they put
the Bose name on this system.

I have a Nissan truck with 10s added to small 6" and 2" combo plate in the
door and this inexpensive combo is head/shoulders above the Bose E320
system.

It sounds like one of the rear speakers hisses a bit. My brother is mainly interested in fixing the problem as we share the car. Is there anyway to remove the speakers behind the headrest to take a look at them?

^ i haven't done it in this car.
BUT, from experience, on previous cars, to get the rear deck speakers, look underneath the deck from inside the trunk.

you should see the back magnets of the speakers.
look around the base for screws that hold the rear deck lid on.
You will probably have to remove the whole rear deck lid to gain access.

edit : be cautious of the rear head rests as well.

I wouldn't try to remove the wire mesh above the speaker as you may actually damage it. It's probably not removable.

Also, with a high quality head unit, the bose speakers are not bad at all. Granted, if you're looking for earth shaking bass, you need to add to it. But for DD use, i couldn't be happier.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it tomorrow to see if I can easily gain access.

From the inside of the car, pop off the speaker covers on the rear deck to expose the drivers.
