Carlsson wheels question
will 18/9 front and 18/9 rear fit a '98 E320? do i need to get any spacer or certian radial tire?

18 x 9 in the front????? I don't think so, the largest you can get is 18 x 8.5 in the front.
18 x 9 in the rear is fine.

I have the 1/6 Evo's 19X8.5 all around. You can fit a 9" in the front and a 10" in the rear if you would like (I guess depending on the offset). Ask JamE55 as he has 19X9 HRE's in the front of his 2002 E55. I had the pleasure of riding in it yesterday and it looks tight!!!

Jam has a miracle fitment up front! The numbers seem to good to be true on those HRE's.

I changed the offset inward by only 4mm from 18X8 et31 to 18X8 et35 and it rubbed with Nitto 245/40/18 tires and with Dunlop 9000 (no rub) there is absoluety no room (same size). I am still trying to figurie out how Jam pushed the wheels in further than 4mm and no rubbing?

235/40/18 up front is recommend for E320.

235/40/18 up front is recommend for E320.
I don't know how he did it but he did it! I saw and rode in the car myself. 235-40-18 is recommended on 8.5" wheels but you can go 225-40-18 on 8" wheels with no problem. Have seen it done lots of times. I have 19X8.5 and 235-35's on mine but I have seen 245-35 used a lot as well. JamE55's ride is tight with those sizes and wheels though! I have a couple of pics. of his ride but will wait for his approval to post them...
