I use both! I also find benzworld to be slower on loading pages and my eyes dont like the bright white background. I think mbworld just has a more at home, comfortable feel. Although we dont have the D.I.Y section like benzworld. I find them both to have wonderful access to great amounts of knowledge. Dont know where I would be without them.

MBWorld Fanatic!
when i'm browsing the MB forums, i *always* stop at both BW and MBW.
in addition, i recognize that peachparts.com has incredible depth of know-
ledge at their Tech Forum. that covers 95% of my MB reading.
i don't like the BenzWorld 210 forum because the moderator there is evil,
heavy handed, and has a big ego.

The W210 forum at mbusa has a lot of nice knowledgeable people but no one ever goes there. Mostly moderators posting back and forth to each other about how to improve the site.
IIRC, benzworld and mbworld were once the same site. I used to post on benzworld every day but I find this site to be friendlier.

ON my very first reply to a thread on BenzWorld, I got censored by the SUPREME ONE, who is definitely on some huge power-trip. I received a 1 point demerit! I quite innocently mentioned a NON-SPONSOR auto part internet site, that I was considering buying a part for my new "11 C300 Sport. I smiply wanted to get an opinion from my fellow MBZers on the part and did anyone of them have any experience installing this part. Good slambasted, and now tread in the shallow water, always fearful of my SECOND demerit.

I use both, but I prefer mbworld. Seems to be more activity and topics seem to have deeper info. I've never been moderated on either site, but then again, I'm not a *****.

I rarely use benzworld, adn only to look up DIY articles.
I use UK-based MB forums a lot because they drive all Diesel versions there. I'm currently looking into a mod that will disable the EGR on my CDI without triggering a CEL.

Not to change the subject completely, but I got banned from the mercedesforum.com web site for reasons unknown to me. I receive the following message when I try to log on:
You have been banned for the following reason:
spam
Date the ban will be lifted: Never
I may have posted to the site one time since I am new to Mercedes vehicles. I tried emailing the Admin people but never get any reply. So I just view the post daily. I would not know how to sen spam if it hit me in the face (LOL)!

The Archman - I had a similar experience.
My first visit, became my last on their forums. I will use it only to research now.
I did try to contribute initially and was subsequently accused of being a poser and not the owner of my car... I realized they were serious after getting a PM from the forum Admin to go with the thread-lashing.
After the shock face wore off, I started laughing. I'd gladly inform the county, insurance, bank, lawyer and mechanic where to send the bills if someone else is the owner.
I wonder if someone before me had posed maybe with a car like mine, and they thought they were busting on a return attempt. Regardless, that wasn't the way to handle it.
This website and user environment is heads up already. Glad I gave this one a try.

I go to both sites but find no need to go to BW more than once a month. It seems the activity there is so limited, by also limiting my visits to once per month, there is enough new content to keep me interested...for about 5 minutes.

Out Of Control!!
Benzworld is a good social networking site, great for reminiscing, guess work, but weak on the MB system knowledge. If you want to spend loads of time talking with folks about and around your problem that's a great place to converse. A great friendly social site.
If you like the party line approach you will do well however the moment you disagree or have an opposite opinion---you run into the bullies---then it gets nasty and if you continue with the truth----you will get banned!!
They have a system of counting posts and therefore you are left with the perception of depth of experience, but when you examine the posts most lack sound technical grounding, are short yes or no or no meat answers or long opuses and become very misleading to the novice who thinks he is getting sound technical advice.
A very strong point is that they have an excellent sticky section, with loads of references from many other forums on DIY work.
There is one exceptional member who has produced excellent DIY material from a clean garage that puts most commercial garages to shame.
