AUX in glove compartment help
What I did was remove the comand unit, sort out and clipped the original aux-wires on the back of the connector and soldered-in a new cable that I ran past the shifter to the 'cup holder' compartment. I can now hook up an MP3 player there...

So you just cut the wires, and on those wires you put the 3.5mm jack? Thats it? No other conversions or anything? And it works good?
Here's my mod.
First i took everything apart, disconected the command, and clipped the AUX cable.

Not too sure about the pin numbers, you have to double check it.
Then i installed my 3.5mm jack in the penny saver.

Soldered and heat shrunk the wires.

Pic of everything in place.

And the final product.

Thats it. Not too much work and quite simple.

homepukes: Hope you get the AUX inlet to work. Maybe the actual female plug is bad, not the wire or amp input? Have you tested it? Easy to change the female plug. Maybe you can look at the amp in the trunk and see if the AUX cable is loose?

Item #200 is the "Wire Harness Cassette" wire = the AUXinput. The owners manual talks about the AUX cassette input in the glove box.
I ran a standard [Radio Shack] 3.5mm 6 foot wire from the glovebox inlet, behind the glovebox, tucked inside the console, out from under the console on the passenger side between the console and the front pass seat. I can use my iPhone while driving, or the wire can reach to the back seat for my daughter's music. Wire can be tucked down between console and seat when not in use.
