I have a hard time to lock the door but very easy to unlock on the remote key for 1999 e320. I just replace the new battery. Has any one have an idea?

If you have the spare (2nd) key have you tried it? It could be that the 'button' on the key is just wearing out. Beware replacement keys can be expensive and need to be programed at the dealer in spite of what eBay sellers say.

 

Pull the internals out of the keey and make sure nothing it broken/breaking. Once you take the metal key out its pretty easy to do.

 

I forgot how to get all the functions back on my key. The key only opens and locks doors and opens trunk. It won't roll windows up while holding lock button. I also checked the switches on all 4 doors on door jams to make sure they weren't pushed into the body.

I thought all I had to do is put key in ignition or on position 1 to get back all the key fob features.

 

I know I have seen the instructions on that somewhere. A few years back I programmed my key to just unlock the drivers door and not all the doors when I press the button.

 

To switch between global (all doors, trunk plus fuel cover) and selective (drivers door plus fuel cover) press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons for 5 seconds. Press them again to toggle back to previous setting.

The remote key will not close windows and sunroof if the 'sync' has been lost. So make sure that the sunroof closes with one press and that the express feature is working on the windows.

 

how would you regain the sync??

have 1999 e320, key wont start some time, but every time key wont start I remove it and put the key back then the car start again. One of the machanical said may be I have bad electronic control module, and I just have a brand new key from dealer. Any one has idea?

Open the sunroof all the way then keep holding the switch for 5 seconds. Then close it holding the switch again. Do the same for the all the windows, one at a time.

 

tigerlee, do you mean the starter does not engage or the key does not turn to the start/crank position 3?

 

Insert the key in ignition switch.
Press lock key.
while pressing it take it out and press 5 times unlock.Its synch
