I'm going to throw this out there because It really bothered me for some reason while I was driving my car earlier today.... In a normal car you have those knobs where you can switch the air conditioning or heater to either blow air to you, your feet, your window or a combination of 2 of the 3 choices.. Has anybody else realized that, in your E320 you don't have the option where it only blows air at you? The only other options were 2 out of the 3 and not ever just directly blowing air to you.
I don't think its just me cause my cars system is stock.... but maybe its broken? Can anyone shed some light on this lol

One more thing, anyone know how to turn off our cars day time running lights? I put in hids in the car and they are on all the time now. I checked the fuses etc but can't seem to find one

i wasn't aware that this is a (legal) option across the border. if you wanted one,
you may need to retrofit this yourself, which should not be too difficult.

It's a setting in the on board computer. If you bring it to the dealer they can turn them off when they hook it up, along with other settings. I had this done with my e46 when I had halo eyes installed

Raymond - No it is actually illegal to have no drl's and the police are cracking down on it in my city (due to japanese imports) but I could just turn on my high beams during the day time and at night time flick on the HIDs haha

Joeker82 - Oh wow thats good to know, thanks a lot man. Do you think an indy shop would be able to do the same thing? I don't wanna get dinged big money to turn off my drl's cause mercedes benz shop charges like 150$'s per hour here

Really? The dealer here did it for free. Just get in real good with the service advisor or salesman. Usually, they will throw ya a bone every once in a blue moon!

I usually do the work myself from the DIY's on the forums I can find, but I'll try asking the indy shop i'm taking my car to tomorrow! Glad you told me this just the night before cause its just absolute perfect timing lol

tomorrow my cars going in the shop to get the fuel pump/fuel pump relay/starter and left ac fan checked because it has two issues that are plaguing me but thank god my warranty has all this covered

Oh man your telling me, when I first signed up for this forum it was because the transmission was acting funky in my car so I went back to the dealer I bought it from and paid 400$'s for a 6 month 6000 mile warranty that I can choose to renew after the end of the 6 month period. Anyway I tried changing the transmission fluid and still no fix so I took it to benz to run a sds check on it and they said it was the solenoid. After that I called my warranty and they opened up the transmission and apparently a flywheel(?) or crankshaft(?) broke and made a huge mess in the tranny requiring a rebuild and a bunch of part replacements. the total bill came up to 4000$'s and I paid 0 of it, my lovely warranty covered it all! Then I got this other issue that just arose where the car cranks but doesn't start as well as the left vents on the drivers side are not cooling as much as the right side and rear if I set the climate control to Low setting so my appointment is tomorrow and my lovely warranty is going to cover it again.
On another note, my car was broken into and keyed about a month ago before I took it to the transmission shop and my insurance company covered 6000$'s in a new paint job and windows, I just paid a deductible of 200 bucks.

In conclusion - I paid 7000$'s for the car, theres been 10,000$'s of repairs and still adding up and all I paid for was 200$ deductible for the insurance company

edit: and 400$'s for the warranty.

That's sweet! I bought mine from my moms cousin for 1500. Sweet family deal. So, I figure if something goes wrong i'm still in the black. And if it's something major, I can make a executive decision ast that time.

Damn that is a hell of a deal, 1500 for a 99!
you could have invested like 4000$'s worth of repairs on it and you'd still be good. Has your car had any problems? How long have you owned it for ?Personally I love this car a lot, its really built like a tank and the 4wd is going to do good in the winters where I live in although it has a little bit of tweaks and problems that need to be fixed before warranty comes off.. But I'll probably renew my warranty at the end of the 6 month period lol

No, no real problems at all. it's a owner car. All service records from MB dealers. Was just at MB sarasota at 225k. Just bought new floormats.

Nice nice, i'm jealous I wish my car had no problems or issues but on the bright side at least its not cash coming out of my pocket. I think I am the third owner of my car, I didn't bother to ask for a car fax from the dealer because this car is suppose to be my daily driver... But now I'm thinking I wish I got the car fax so I'd know its accident/service records as well -___-

oh and congratulations on the floor mats haha, my car came with floor mats and carpets already but I took out the carpets cause they smelled weird and i will put them back when i have them shampooed and fully cleaned.... i'm thinking of really doing a thorough job cleaning my floor mats too so they get that new car smell or atleast a soapy smell lol

The DRL's are off now, and there is already a block heater on my car - all I need is the cord so thats cool he didn't charge me for those. But I did get a 200$ labor fee for him diagnosing the AC fan and he said hes not sure whether or not its the fuel pump or something electronic (Sometimes the car cranks, but doesn't start, this can occur even while I'm driving the car will just shut off and I just turn it back on again. In general this rarely occurs, but can get leave me stranded on an important day if I don't have it fixed.) So the bad news is, I have to drive the car around until this problem occurs again so the this light he put in the car will tell him if its the fuel pump or if its electronic. I pray to god its the fuel pump cause its covered under warranty lol

Does your car have the xenon lights package maybe? Mine is just the regular bulbs and I swapped them for an hid kit so my cars front lights both share DRL and regular low beam lighting. I'm assuming if u have the xenon lights package in yours they will create a separate light bulb as the DRL, maybe that light is out? Or your lucky hahaha

I don't have DRL's. But, I also have factory xenon. The daytimes only come on when the parking lights are on. It must only be the hologens.
