best and lowest springs for w210
ok so i've decided not to cut springs and just do it right. i was wondering what the best springs were for w210s.
i'm considering b&g because they go pretty low. they have about a 1.6" drop front and rear.
eibach offers springs that give a 1.4" drop front and 1.6" drop rear.
h&r springs only lower the car 1.3" all around.
any suggestions? pics would be great too. thanks!

Before you put the springs on take them to a machine shop. Have them use a oil cooled saw to cut the springs. This will cold cut the springs and not effect the spring rate.

Make sure to get the thinnest spring pads/shims #1 to get the lowest setting. Search if you don't know what that is.

2003 S210 3.8L Brabus wagon
The Brabus spring sets for the W210 were made by H&R and overall drop is 1.75 inches after vehicle has settled in, which is usually a month or more of driving time. The H&R set ups can be ordered from TireRack.com. It will come down more as the springs seat and get used to taking the weight of the vehicle. If you go much lower then tire rub comes into play. Both the Brabus and H&R setups are progressive rate so the ride is stiffer the more it compresses and the harder the ride becomes. Do not cut the spring. That is a cheap way to get lowered and does nothing to improve control or handling. Remember you you will need to have adjustable camber front and rear when doing the swap. Build that into the pricing. Do a search on this site for those options. Front shocks should also be changed to a shorter piston. Bilstein has an excellent application for that.

how much will it be for all 4 #1 spring pads? i know a little bit about them... such as they differ by 5mm each size and that the stock ones are #3. is there anything else i should know about them?

the stock ones are not always #3. Some cars came with different setups from the factory. My 4-matic has #1's all around. I have a setup of #3's is anyone needs some.

The spring pads are very inexpensive and can be ordered from the dealer. Many vehicles have different pads at different corners to even out the ride height. Stock is not necessarily #3 pads. Remember the difference between pad #s is very little in terms of height. They are used as an adjustment factor to balance the height front to rear and left side to right. Overall drop between #1 and #4 is maybe 3/8 inch.

lol hurry up and get some springs already, it's been ages :P!
Just cut them.
Doesn't stuff them up too much.
I have adjustable crappy Taiwanese ones and in hindsight I definitely would of explored the cutting springs route first before buying these.
H&R, Eibach don't provide enough of a drop for me.

I'll get some new pics soon.. I raised the rear suspension recently for a drive interstate (to avoid scraping etc) but haven't put it down yet so it looks like a bit of a 4WD + got some new wheels on the other day so I'll need to take some new pics once lowered again!!

Carlsson 1/6 with the brushed finish. Here's a pic of mine with the painted finish.
For siopaolover I'm running the H&R cupkit. In this pic it still had the factory original #5 springpads in front and #1's in back so the front was sitting a bit too high.
