Since it's not a burning filament like a halogen bulb, but instead gas that has been ignited, they run pretty cool - much cooler than halogen lights. I don't know if you wanted a degree measurement.

I bet there is still a lot of IR heat. Try a laser or a stick on thermometer with the lights on. I can feel quite a bit of heat just holding my hand in front of the lens. Also, have you seen the cooling fins aon the back of the light?

I have another question while on this subject....As you know I have to factory HID kit....When I turn my lights on they are a bright blue but give them 30 seconds and they turn to more of a white color....Is there a company that makes bulbs for the HID kit that make a bright blue or purple color like the bmw's? This boring off white color gets on my nervs when it's supposed to be blue.....I even bought new bulbs at 100$ a bulb to try and fix this.....never worked

Well, different mfr's of the xenon bulbs might be the cause for the different colors of the light. The reason I am saying this is because one of my bulbs went out so I had my mechanic replace it. The bulb he put in was a lot bluer that the other bulb which was whiter. I asked him what kind of bulb it was but unfortunately he didn't remember because I wanted to change the other one as well. It's too expensive to experiment with these bulbs so I am just living with it for now...

It seems as though you're simply promoting this website. If you're trying to sell stuff please use the classified section of the forum. These forums are for people to get help, and in this case, as well as many of your other posts regarding Xenon lights, you didn't even attempt to answer the original question, you just promoted a site that sells HID retrofit kits...

The factory W210 E-Class HID are nice they arnt blue like the 7 series Bimmer or other because it doenst have projectors dont wayste your money on aftermarket HID Capsules aka bulbs. They will just decrease your lighting at night and probley burn out quick as no OEM manufacture uses anything above 4300K which you already have If you want the blue/White Color get Phillips Ultinon 6000k bulbs they have a good 2800 Lumens output and have that color you want.
