It's definetly not a BOSE sound system. It sounds pretty weak actually, Crutchfield hasn't researched that information about my W210 (Wagon).
First, check the option codes that came on the car. The premium sound system (BOSE) is code SA 810. That was a pretty common option for W210s in the US.
The BOSE system has 4 speakers - two in the front doors and two in the back.
The standard sound system has 6 speakers - with two additional speakers in the grills at each end of the dash.
The speakers can be examined by removing the door panels which is fairly easy. There are online DIYs for that. Since the car is 15 yrs old, I suggest checking them since they could have been replaced along the way. If you aren't getting any distortion (ie bad cones) perhaps the output of the radio/amplifier is weak. When checking the speakers look for a MB part number on them. Format is XXX XXX XX XX XX - with or without spaces.

I'm Sorry; I would not trust myself to do it alone. Also, I have speakers in my dashboard. Now I know I do not have BOSE speakers. I wouldn't trust the average shop to open my dashboard either I'd be scared they'd ruin my dash should I trust them?

Thank You Very Much Chief for the helpful information.
I'd like to put this into my Benz.

Any suggestions on the amp?
I've enlisted into The US ARMY N I'm leaving my Benz all fixed up for my X.
I've got a little more than 3 months until I leave for Basic Combat Training.

Kid69Nice, where are you planning to install the JBL 6"x9" speakers? You can either get 6-1/2-inch coaxial, multi-axial, or component speakers in the front. For the rear doors, I've done 5-1/4-inch speakers without any complications.
