Side Markers question

I love my W210 but would love clear side markers on it. Pretty sure US law is that there has to be amber, but I could get stealth bulbs, this kit has it all:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/370833890290...84.m1423.l2649

What do you guys think?
Also, does it have to be amber to be legal, or could I pick another color?

the answer lies within your local motor vehicle laws. most (nearly all) in the US
simply adopt the US DOT criteria. i have been using clear prism lens with metal
coated amber glowing bulbs for several years now.

Do you have any pictures? Is what you have similar to what I linked above? Would you recommend this mod? Thanks for any additional info

I got tired of the amber bulbs in clear markers, so I just painted mine silver to match body color

the mod would depend on the exterior color of your car, insofar as how the lens
color blends in. i can't see having an amber lens on a silver car. still, it's up to
you.

for my bordeaux color, having amber lens was less objectional but i picked up
the lens just to try it out. i like it well enough to leave them on. yes, i have the
silver coated amber bulbs similar to your link.

I really like the side markers that you have, they have no holes like the link I posted above, and have a more OEM look. Do you happen to know where you bought those and can you provide a link? I think that those would look awesome with my silver car. As you can see, the amber looks subpar.
I'd love stealth bulbs too. Beautiful setup.

those side markers look great! another easy way to improve the look of the car is restoring the headlights. Mine looked exactly like that before i used the 3M restoration kit. now they look new!

I thought of that too!
I used a brand called 'Turtle' and it was alright... Didn't get the results I was going for. I am going to my buddie's house soon to use his buffering machine and get them looking new.
Here is my post showing the progress I made

I don't even know what point you are trying to make. Yes, I use a European front plate and people love it. It's a German car and NOBODY I have run into understands what MB W210 means. It's a genuine plate with the correct 'grammar' and everything. It's a much cooler thing to do than lower my car and put ghetto rims on it. *cough.*

LOL yeah putting a crooked Euro plate in the USA is so cool! It is definitely not TACKY! Guess what? If I see you down the road I would definitely roll the windows down and point at you and laugh hard. Then Instagram that ghetto-ness to share with the world.

Oh, enjoy putting in the clear corners. Such a cool mod.

uhh, so pride in ownership is predicated on putting someone else's ride based
on minutia and perceived culture? what's next...displacement size, color of
car, rims, etc?

blue, i now see that he crapped on another thread of yours. but now it appears
as though you're coming to this one just to perform payback. in doing so you're
ragging on his license plate simply to pick nits. the thread is about side markers
