2000 Mercedes Benz E320 Brake lights stopped working
Hello Everybody,
One of the brake lights on my car was not working. I took the light holder out and tried to put it in again. There was a little spark, after which all three brake lights stopped working. I checked all the fuses and they were fine. All the other lights like tail lights, headlights etc. are working fine. Any ideas what could have gone wrong? Thanks in advance.

My guess is that you blew a fuse. Did you find out which fuse works the brake light circuit. It might be in the box on the dash that is exposed when you open the drivers door, at least that is where it is in the US version. The bulb holder contacts will often make poor contact with the metal on the tail light assembly, sometimes burning a spot on the assembly, and sometimes melting the plastic under the metal strips.

Dear Nelbur,
Thanks for your response. You are right it was fuses. Yesterday I checked wrong fuses because the owner's manual did not give much information. This morning I called Mercedes dealership, got the right fuse numbers, changed the fuses, and the lights worked just fine.
