1998 E300D Headlights
Hello to all!
My cherished, perfect E300 that I love dearly has always had a problem since I bought it. The car came with clear headlight lenses, since it has the factory HID option. However, here in the States when I go to buy the replacement lenses they are always contoured for non-HID which then disperses the light incorrectly. I have tried many many times to source the correct lenses to no avail.
Can any E series EXPERTS come up with a source for getting the correct HID lenses. BTW, I have spent extensive time with the dealer wholesale parts folks who are energetic but always end up at a dead-end.
All help appreciated!!

I am convinced that there is an agreement in place between Hella\Behr and Mercedes that forces them not to sell a lens only solution for the HID headlights. It is rotten and bad policy that hurts their customers and possibly causes accidents, but they do not care as they are not in the business of caring.
My only option (short of buying them next time I am in Europe) is to fork over $1,500 to replace both, which I will have to do here shortly. Oh well........
