will 18" wheels off a 2006 R350 fit my 2000 E320 4matic wagon
Just bought a 2000 E320 4matic wagon with 100K. its going to need tires soon and I wanted to upgrade the wheels. I was told not to put anything staggered on a 4matic and would rather be able to rotate anyways.
I was looking at a set of 18" off a 2006 R350 and also a set of AMG 17" that were on a 2011 C300. I am worried about the offsets working. does anybody have any knowledge or recommendations? also tire recommendations would be nice as well
thanks.

tough to respond without any wheel specifications, nor have you supplied the exact tire size.
regardless, the rims do not share the wheel lugs that you have for your w210 so at the very
least, you'll need to come up hybrid lugs. get back with all the dimensions for wheel and tires
and perhaps folks can jump in with ideas

Sorry, it was late.
What I have on the car now are 16"X7.5" 41mm offset according to owners manual and 215/55R16 tires .
the 17's I was looking at are 7.5" wide also. no idea about 18's waiting to hear back on offsets for both and 18" width, I will post when I hear. I couldn't find any info on rim offsets and width for 18's off the 2006 R350. I would like to go a little bigger on tire size if it doesn't create problems with ECM or clearance. I think the car would look a little better with slightly larger tires and I like the ride better with larger sidewall opposed to a real low profile tire. I don't mind buying lugs if there available. also I have been told 18" tires wont last as long and I know they are quite a bit more $$$$.
thanks for any help.

Okay, more info..... The 17's I was looking at are gone. 18's off R class are 18x8.0 67mm offset. maybe to much I found another set off 2013 S550 18x8.8" 43mm offset.
the 16x7.5" on my car are 41mm offset. does anybody know max offset/rim width I can put on the E class w210?
Thanks.

No thanks R2dMax, I don't want 19's and I want to stick with MB wheels, besides my car is silver, bronze wheels would look terrible.
thanks anyways

the offset of any MB rim isn't the critical issue. it's the tire which you intend to
place on the rim which will determine if the wheel/tire combination will co-exist
on your car without rubbing any suspension parts or the fender (wheel lip).
for the wheel you've identified, it may require something like a 5mm spacer. so
now you may need to get slightly longer lug bolts to compensate for this added
thickness.
here are tire/wheel calculators to help you determine fitment
other considerations when you begin frankensteining your suspension is whether
you intend to lower, change the shocks, sometimes even the exact model of
tire (not just tire size, big difference), the type of ride you're seeking, the
road environment you'll be driving under most of the time, etc.

thanks Raymond. Those are very helpful. I'm changing front axles now. as soon as it's back together I can measure clearances with the stock rims & tires and get an Idea of what will fit.
thanks again for the help.
