Rear brake upgrade help (c63?!?)

Hi all,

I have a w210 running the e55 AMG front brake conversion in a race car w210. Problem with the rear upgrade is that there are no racing brake pad compounds for the little square type rear MB pads. This made for very scary race with the front tires wanting to lock far before the rear gets any bite at all - even with "aggressive" street-ish pads.

After much research, it looks like the c63 has a race pad available, but am curious about fitment in the w210?

Is the rotor center bore the same? Bolt pattern on the caliper?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

-John

Are you certain of the no-race pad situation? I have brabus brakes and the calipers came with rear race pads. They are the square type pads.

As far as the rear brakes on the C63 i believe that they are using the 330mmx26 rotor Not 100% sure on that. If they are, it should be a 180mm e-brake center bore. Not 100% sure on the caliper bolts lining up, but i am 100% sure you will need to use spacers.

I have some 375x36mm brabus rear 2pc rotors if you want. LMK.

Since you are racing, i have two brand new brabus rear calipers for sale that you can use ALCON race pads with. They will bolt right up to the 300x22 rear rotors from the W210 E55. LMK about those too. They are an extra pair for me and ill sell em cheap.

Thanks!

I was unable to find a pad that we trust in these 14hr races for those tiny pads, plus the fact that we are not currently using ABS, the rear brakes are just inadequate without ECU assistance. We burn up a set of Hawk DTC 70/60's in a race, sometimes have to go for a second set, even. The plan is to add ABS back from a donor car that can do a 3 channel stand-alone type install, but since we removed the MB drive train the ABS no longer functions.

Ended up going with small 4 piston Wilwood calipers and e430 4Matic rear vented 300mm disks and am adding a proportioning valve.

Part of the reasoning behind the Wilwood is that there's a race at Daytona a week from tomorrow and the w210 on the entry list 0.o The calipers and pads were in stock and will be here in a day.
