Ok so got this 1999 E320. The girl i got it from drove it for a while (I’ve seen her up and down the highway many times) then she said it wouldn’t start because she couldn’t turn the key. So while it was sitting her “friends” tried to work on it and that’s when I ran into her and ended up getting the car.
I have no idea what the “friends” did so I just did what I thought I should do and that was first since the key wouldn’t turn I got a new battery for the car. Then I remembered NO KEY. So I luckily I had 3 sets of keys with matching EIS, and ECU. Plus two emulators in stock. So I replaced the bad ones with one of the good ones. Boom
everything works with the key EXCEPT when I turn the key to position 3, NOTHING happens. Like NOTHING.
I can get the car to crank from the K-40 relay by jumping the purple wire and the black/yellow wire but it won’t start. Makes me think Immobilizer. I left my scanner in Corpus when I took the bus back to Austin the day after my car was stolen so I didn’t have a lot of bags to travel with.
Any ideas that I can check out before I can get the scanner on it?

Sounds like this one is ready for the junkyard.

anyway, the EIS was replaced with a working EIS AND WORKING KEY.
now what
Also I’ve used emulators multiple times and always have some in stock. They have never ever failed on any model Mercedes Benz.

It might be an alarm and it might also be a weak alternator. Please ignore the other rude posts.Originally Posted by MJ Taylor

If you want someone to hold your hand and tickle your pecker it may be best to ignore him.

Plutoe, it would be nice if you actually offered an OP a helpful suggestion instead of a nasty attack.
