Getting past info on a used E430?
Hi all, I just purchased what I hope will be a great 2000 E430 after looking for the better part of the year. I'm pretty sure the seller won't have any past paperwork which I would like to have. I know Porsche would give you the original build sheet if you gave them the VIN for a nominal fee. Does Mercedes offer a similar service? I ask as mine has some unusual features. Thanks for any info and thanks for a great site.

Thanks for your assistance. Now that I have it I'm even more curious as it's a color combo I've never seen - dark graphite over tan with brown piping. It came with 18" chrome monoblocks which leads me to believe it was a customer order.

Wow, thanks so much, this clears up a lot especially as I would have no way of having this info. Thanks again. After 22 years the chrome on the mono blocks is starting to pit. My local mechanic has a person here who will sandblast them and powder coat them. I think I'm going to go with the satin grey as they usually come.

Somehow some way he sent me the build sheet for my newly acquired 2000 E430 that I'm so thrilled with. Turns out it was a demo car specially ordered by the dealership in Walnut Creek, Ca so that explains a lot. Unique paint and interior combo, interesting deletes and special order items, contacted the dealer today to get whatever records they have as they also serviced the car for most of its' life.

You never thought about taking photos both interior and exterior of your car and show your beauty in this thread?
Let's see how special it is from factory.

E430 exhaust mods, springs
Hi, More newbie questions if someone is willing to give me some advice - I'm looking at replacing the exhaust with an E55 muffler as there are a couple of decent ones for sale on eBay. Will it fit if it's stamped 210 and from the same period? Also will it make a difference sound wise? I like the look of the chrome tips. There are E55 springs also for sale, would that be a worthwhile upgrade instead of new H & R springs as I have decided not to lower the car, at least for the time being. Loving my new ride, I get what you guys have been raving about. Thanks.
