chirp sound for alarm?

chirp sound for alarm?
Does anyone know if a 2000 E320 has the ability to chirp when the alarm is armed/disarmed? I guess it's a new feature on the C-class that can be turned on/off. I just wasn't sure if I also have that option. Right now it makes no sound.. just blinks lights.

There is a way to make it chirp. It's called the Norway setting. Not really sure though if it works on E-class. But c-class it does. Check with your dealer on this. I beleive they have to program your car on this??

Thank God, there is no chirping or horn blowing when you set a Benz alarm. No sounds on my 2000 E430, just light flashing. That's all you need!

anybody have any updated comment about an alarm chirp for arming the car? I look like an idiot at night, staring thru my slightly tinted windows to see if my locks go down or not when I am pressing the button on my remote...

Oh Lord,
On the facelifted cars (MY 2000 - 2002) the signal repeaters (lights mounted on the side rear view mirrors) and directional lights flash 3 times when on locking and once when unlocking.
