steering wheel shaking at 43 mph
on the E230 i have an interesting steering wheel shaking problem only at about 43 mph. The tires are brand new, the rims are perfectly aligned and I don't know what is causing this annoying vibration.
Is it possible that this has something to do with the small vertical stabilizers?

I don't mean to be jerk, but have you search online, such as "high speed steering wheel shake" or similar? I'm only saying this because we don't have enough info to diagnose your situation. You really need to be specific to determine what is causing such a situation. If you already have, than you should have pretty good idea what's causing it. If not, search and what is the most likely cause than attend to it. If all is/are done and still have the same situation/problem, come back here and list what you/shop(s) have done and tell us exactly when and where you have the problem.
Your question is like going to your doctor and tell him your stomach hurts. He need to know when, what you have ate before,at what time, yada yada yada.....................You get the point. You have the car, Only you know what is/are doing at any one point.

the problem was already before the replacement and I thought that I would solve the problem with new ones, but the tires were not the cause.
When I turn into a parking lot that is on an incline, I feel some airiness in the steering wheel, but only then. The steering column probably can't be the problem I guess (only 65.000 miles car), but it could be something to do with it down there.

Assuming the brakes are not being applied when you feel the steering wheel shake, it is likely a wheel wobble from a damaged rim or a wheel balance problem. I know you have ruled both out, but I would check again.

My guess is a balance weight on one of the front wheels (rims) broke off.
