Man....how many times do I have to tell you I am sorry? I got super busy with some personal matters that are none of your concern, and SORRY, but the V1 install took a back seat to that. You do not have to keep posting to sh*t on me because of it. Have you never goofed or spaced out on something? Friggin' heck man.
If I have some time next week I'll check into your problem again and generate another pdf set for you! If not then keep posting and it keeps showing up on my screen to remind me! We're all busy not just you but when I send you 2 PMs/emails about this and I don't get any response then I truly feel like you never meant to seek help and I wasted my busy time. Thought about that? No? Then you might wanna do this now!

I just did this today in about 15 minutes time. I tapped the hot wire onto the red wire from the cigarette lighter, and the ground onto the brown wire. Fired right up perfectly the first time.

Having some trouble with the taping of the wire, not sure what I am doing wrong, popped the ashtray, got the red wire, spliced into it, hooked up to the v1 hardwire kit, but got no power...when I plug the radar phone wire to the cigarette lighter power source, starts right up...when plug into the hardener...nothing...any ideas what I am doing wrong? Any help is appreciated. 08 e350..

I would think a fuse could be bad...but i have 2 hardwire kits...both get nothing...what do you mean by switched power vs steady plus? there are 3 wires red, white, and brown...i tried both red and white..got nothing...i know the radar and the wire work fine, and the cigarette lighter plug has power, leads me to believe prob something wrong with the hardwire kit...

Second: Switched power = power only when KL15 is on; steady power = you have 12 V at all times regardless whether the key is in pos 2 or not
Third: Have you heard of the tool called (digital) multimeter? You should have measured the brown, red and white cable to see what you have and what you need.

Figured it out! The issue was teh ground wire...i had it under a screw, until i tapped the brown wire(ground) with my ground wire, i had nothing....ones tapped the brown, it powered right up. Thanks for all the help!

Some side notes about install, just to save the next person some time....
1. I put the bulky hardwire part with the main/accessory inputs, in the back of the piece under the shifter...there is much more room there then under the ashtray area...
2. To snake the phone wire from under the dash to the under the ashtray area, i took a metal hanger, bent it into a straight line, and went from under into the ashtray area, once it pops out in the ashtray area, make a hook and snake the phone wire back down.
Pretty happy with the install!!

Hey guys, first post here, I was able to install my V1 successfully in my 2007 E63, but I'm finding it almost impossible to tuck the wire under the headliner.. there doesn't seem to be any room? In my old E46 M3 you could pull the headliner down slightly to fit the cable; in the E63, the headliner seems sealed tight against the windshield.
Any tips? I have the wire hidden behind the secondary sun visor right now... it works, and is hard to notice, but is GHETTO!
