Tyson Beckford should of got a Benz

Just saw this on Access Hollywood. Ralph Lauren model Tyson Beckford lost control of his Ford truck and hit a light pole, his truck catches fire on impact. He was traped inside while the Ford is blazing in flames because the seat belts jamed and won't release, he finally got out by cutting the belts with his knife. Luckly he was not seriously injured.

WOW...all I can say is he should of gotten a Benz instead of risking his life in a Ford truck. Fords are still exploding on impact...guess they haven't improved much since the Pinto.

And Ford's trucks and SUVs are spontaneously combusting while parked due to a poorly designed cruise control switch module.

I will not ride in a Ford product if I have any say in it anymore. I even turn down Lincoln town cars. When I have a limo take me someplace, I request a Cadillac, or other brand. I never ride in Ford Taxi's either.. damn things are death traps. We had a Phoenix cop burn to death, and another loose his body (and barely hang on to his life) in a Ford cop car out here.

Sam's right. This has been going on since the days of the Pinto. Not only do they catch on fire but the doors jam trapping people inside. Anyone that's seen our policeman who was horribly burned or heard about the others that were trapped in their cars would never get near a Ford.

Hate to disagree with an infallible authority like Access Hollywood, but the June 7 newswire story says that it was a Dodge Ram, not a Ford. Say, isn't Dodge somehow connected with a company called Daiimler-Chrysler?

Man...you guy sure dampen the Ford trashing fun. But I still don't consider Dodge a part of Daimler Chrysler, well...maybe like a step child that you never want but couldn't get rid of.

Just like Ford and Volvo have very little in common, especially in the Truck segment, Dodge and MB have little... But I'm sure the higher up corporate types will eventually make some cultural changes that will either improve the one, or hurt the other... (lets hope it's the former).

I still will not ride in a Ford. Though the new 500 has a lot of Volvo technology so maybe I will give that one a chance.

True, but the title of this thread is still dead-on correct - he should have gotten a Benz. He probably wouldn't have "lost control", and even if he had, the Benz wouldn't have done a Zippo on him.

Well, that SHOULD have been the title of this thread. As it is, "should of got" makes no sense in any language. I generally don't nitpick with spelling or grammar, but with that title, I did have to check to see if the poster was foreign to English. I can only hope he is while he lives in "Sunny S. California."

I've learned (the hard way) to pass on mistakes in spelling and grammar and just concentrate on the substance of what's being said. There are lots of possible reasons for mistakes, from haste in typing to foreign origin to (arguably) a gneral decline in composition drill in the schools. Sometimes the mistakes do obscure the intended meaning, but it's seldom helpful to point them out.

Addendum: Posting from a Treo 650, with its tiny keyboard and display, gnerally doesn't help spelling accuracy, either.

Well Jocko, I didn't have you pegged for one of "those" type....

Perhaps your comments would've been more appropriate on a "proper english" forum. Regardless of the grammer used, its obvious he got is message across and we all understood it. Not sure what the S. Calif comment was about either, but "what ever"...... Yeeall.

Hmm...I may take you up on that. Yeah, Roswell is just down the road. What car wash do you own?

They had interviewed him on TV, and thank god his face was not injured. He said he lost over 11 pounds of muscle due to this accident but when he did the interview he still look buff .

I don't see how this has anything to do with the story or our interest in cars? You'll be suprised what the majority language is in S. Kalifornia. (Yes that's how our governor pronounce it, and no English is not his first language.)

I see you are in GA, so you guys still speak red necks over there huh? Do you guys still pronounce "Heart" as "Hat"?
Ok take it easy, it's just a joke.
