Rough ride with my 19's. Anyone else have this problem?

I obviously realize that the ride is going to be rougher with larger wheels, but it is like night and day between the two. I am trying to figure out if its the type of wheel I have or maybe the tires. I run about 40 psi in the tires all around. I am curious if other people are having this problem as bad as me. If not, I will probably get new wheels and maybe different tires. I have 19" Maya wheels and bridgestone pole position S03 tires. Thanks.

That is a lot of pressure for 19's...I'm running about 35 in the rear and 32 in the front...ride is just fine

19" upgrade in wheels can be a pleasant thing, in terms of both aesthetics and performance.

You have to have the proper tires, to ensure the rolling diameter doesn't drastically change from the stock. The car's speedometer, transmission, etc. is set to perform optimally at a certain rolling diameter.

The stock rolling diameter of the E500 with the 17" wheels on the appearance package is 25.68"

With 19 x 9.5 rear and 19 x 8.5 front, the tires should be 245/35x19" front and 275/30x19 rear. This keeps the rolling diameter similar to original.

Also check to see if your aftermarket wheels are hubcentric. Alot of times aftermarket wheels are not hubcentric and may require hub adapters or spacers. Alot of times improper spacers and non-hubcentric wheels tend to give vibrations in the steering wheel and or a rough ride.

Let me know if you need the formula to calculate the rolling diameter of a tire/wheel package.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Jameson, I am using the exact tire size that you mentioned, but I am not sure if my wheels are hubcentric. Does this depend on the vehicle they are going on, or just the wheels themselves? I bought these from an internet site, so this might be the case. Thanks

hubcentric wheels are wheels that are made exactly for your car. They will sit flushed onto your car's hub. sometimes aftermarket wheels will fit multiple cars. In cases that your wheels are not hubcentric you will need to purchase a quality adapter that will allow to wheel to sit properly onto your car's hub. sometimes you might need some kind of spacer as well as the offset might not be correct. Both of these things if not proper might give you a shimmy in the steering wheel or maybe alot of road noise.
