I don't like that new steering wheel AT ALL... so far I like nothing about the 2007 CDI, and am VERY glad I got one of the last I-6 powered CDI's!

not flying it as much as I would like these days (Contract work is slow).. but you are right.. it's a blast (and a handful) to fly, especially when going mach .92 (as you often can do in winter time), you are constantly causing pilots of fast moving 747's and MD-11 to ask ATC.. "what is that thing passing us up so fast?"

In addition to the W211 mid '06 facelift ...

The Sensotronic Brake Control system (SBC) will be scrapped and reverted back to the traditional brake pedal to brake booster to master cylinder system.

The driver's side mirror cost an arm and a leg (in spite of the MB dealer in Aachen giving me a great discount since he was happy to see me again). Since it gets dark along with the center rear view mirror and it is heated it is the most expensive. The passenger mirror that is just heated was no big deal.

Here is a picture, the Euro mirrors have a vertical line that indicates where the mirror is extremely convex and helps eliminate the blind spot. I would recommend these to anyone (if you have the money to spend on this kind of stuff).

I also went to Europe and bought a bunch of driver's side mirrors for friends and family. Volvo, Saab, Mercedes, etc. Costs vary wildly. The cheapest is just over $100. Some Mercedes parts are well designed. Others are just ordinary and priced to cheat the Mercedes driver. Everyone who got a mirror loves it!

If it is the same wheel as the SL, then it will be one hell of an improvement. When I drive my wife's E55 I always feel as though the steering wheel belongs to another car versus the feel that I get out of my SL55.

Because its a European Market version of the car. Only the MBUSA distributed cars have those Tambour consoles due to the US Market complaints about the mechanically amazing but over engineered cup non-holders in the butterfly console.

The butterfly console cup holders don't grip a cup well, and there are electronics under them that would be an expensive disaster if they got wet... but they always amaze people when they unfold & deploy!

i really like the new facelift, the front grille with the emblem is nice, and it's more wider and V like grille, the bumper kind of remind me of the last generation RL facelift bumper
