I love my CDI! MBUSA Be damned!
MB fanatic: That was just to get the 40.. I do 75 usually, and get about 39.x doing that.. but the 40 looks better!
Guitar... I want to try the same thing on a return trip from Flag Staff where we have a long run down hill and see if I can break 60!

oh yeah... that was just a "snap shot" of my steady state mpg at 66mph. The Average that day was more in the 28 mpg range with all the city mixed in.
Still good when you consider the car runs a 15.5 sec 1/4 mile and 0-60 in the upper 6's..
And why are you so down on MBUSA Sam? I've never had any dealing with them....just wondering why you are so down on them?

as for MBUSA..
Well, let me see, where do I start....
1. Fiasco with Vinyl seats (do a search, I grow tired of restating it)
2. 3 different answers on every tech question I've asked from 3 different reps, never fails.. can't depend on their knowledge.
3. Detroit like philosophy with regards to options on their cars (especially E and S), C is acceptable as it's entry level.
4. dumbing down MB AG cars be requesting great tech features be removed for US Market.
5. Bad customer service / follow up
6. Doesn't hold dealers accountable like they should for a lux brand
7. Recently gutted the Teleaid Concierge service to cut costs.
I'm sure I'm missing something..
Like I said, one place where Toyota has MB beat hands down is the service side..

I mean, you write with much authority, is it only based on you experience with your W210? E's have almost always had analogue clocks in the dashboard. The W123s had an even bigger clock in the models without an RPM gage. The W124s have a small analogue clock inside the RPM gage, just like my old Audi 400 Q. Seeing that both my Audi S6 and my E have nice analogue clocks in the dash, I am very used to it and like them. My 996 is a different story though.
CE750,
I will post a picture of my trip computer on my 4-matic only that my display if after about 100 miles of driving, start stop and all included. I am about 10 MPGs less than the CDI and I am turning an extra set of differentials along with a front axel set, and yea, it is a gasoline engine.

I got some advantage also from the 100 degree day, and the 1000' altitude of the freeway I was on.
I understand a member got 42mpg on his CDI some time back. I've not been able to drive long and steady enough to try that. Shortly after I took that photo I edged up to 40.4 before I had to take my exit.

Didn't that 767 of yours have EFIS? since when are steam gauges better than LED?

I guess you are in one of those moods again when you miss having a Mercedes and you just feel like picking at something that really doesn't affect you anyway. It must be nice to be bitter and have tons of time on your hands. Really, I have personally not seen any complaints about that clock on this forum (except yours that it). Now I am starting to really consider the source.

And here is the venerable 300SD from 1982.

I can only speak from my own personal experience. I have owned a Porche 944, BMW 330i, BMW 530i, and Mercedes E-430. And I have driven every E-Class since the 2002 model came out, thinking that I would like to upgrade....until I drove the new models and read about the various problems that Mercedes was experiencing with quality control on these models. I realize you have an emotional attachment to your Mercedes, and you like your Kool-Aid. I just try to relate my own experiences and leave the emotional tirades of of it.

PS. And I like it.
I have yet to take this car on a "cruise control" road trip. I would guess 25-28 MPH at 75 MPH.
Sam, when was it 100 degrees? Is that an old pic? Did you do the 1/4 mile in your CDI?
