140 miles an hour on a bone stock 1990 190E (the speedo only went up to 140 or 145 i think ) on I-95S on the way to richmond
around 125 miles an hour in my 2000 C230 Kompressor on I-95N towards Baltimore (cant remember - it hit the governor)
ive been to afraid to get past 110 on my E500 (only had it for less than 2 months)... all in 55 mph zones

.... nothing to brag about, it is a previous model....
This is safer way to record how fast you go and the duration. so, next time, if you want to go high speed, bring your GPS w/ you.
Thankfully, I was doing New Garmin Nuvi 2xx GPS testing on other forum. (east bound I-90 at 3:00AM in the morning, basically it is a long stretch in the middle of nowhere - kind of spooky since there wasn't a single car on the road.)

211.020 - E 280 CDI
I live in germany.
I reached 248 km/h (154 m/h) with our E 280 CDI (with 6 speed manual transmission ) and about 260 km/h (162 m/h) with a SLK 320. Driving fast is absolutely normal here...but I hate those Mercedes Sprinters, which go up to 180 km/h - it's absolutely irresponsible.

NOT just the speed!! Where matters
Not my fastest speed but i think i may have you all beat here *trust me thats a TALL order after seeing those posts*
BUT most of you are posting speeds on autobahn and Interstates.
how about 126mp on the West Side Highway NYC racing a BMW 540i from around the 90's hit 126 around the 80's and maintained between 100 and 126 all the way to to battery park.
yes, red lights and all. Not a pause. You stop, you lost. You made it to the southern tip first. you won.
Though the most insane thing ever done-not to mention practically suicidal, my buddy promptly removed his S/S white face series Z Rolex Daytona whit White dial. Making that number 2 in my collection!
Was quite a gas wearing one on each wrist to work that monday.
Yeah, 130 or 160 is fast on a highway or track. But those of you in the know how ****ing fast that was!!

I have the same watch but two tone with a diamond face. I absolutely love it!!!
Oh and on the william floyd yesterday I hit 110mph, I can't believe how stable it was, felt like 75.
I think I have all of you beat for crazy- 128mph in a CHEVY AVALANCHE for several miles bouncing off my 'enhanced' speed limiter...

120 mph on a 60 mph rarely used 2 lane in Central Washington. I had just taken delivery of my new E550 4MATIC the day before and I was trying to put some miles on it before we left on a month long boating vacation. The car was rock solid and seemed to be asking for more but my wife was chirping in my ear about how much the insurance would go up if we got caught at that speed. Automatic reckless, as I recall for anything 15 or more over the posted limit.

800 mph in a T-38 @ 42 thousand feet between Valdosta , Ga and Jacksonvile, Fl ...
Oh, and you can see the curvature of the earth at that altitude-very cool.
(on the runway @ takeoff, 185 mph)
"the faster it goes, the faster it goes faster."
Edit : Fuel economy not an issue as taxpayers were footing the bill

That is a beautiful picture of a beautiful machine. I did the same thing on my "Cherry-Ride" when the T-38's were brand new at Vance AFB in Oklahoma in early 1965. We were limited to 40,000 feet at that time but we took it well above that and went supersonic and could see the curvature of the earth at that altitude. Quite a thrill for a young 2nd Lt. and it far surpassed anything I have experienced in my Mercedes.......but I'm a little older now.
was truly one of my greatest flying experiences ( along w/low altitude high speed and formation flying).
Definitely also a little older now, but still never tire of watching the Thunderbirds (2 women pilots now) and the Blue Angels.

134 mph just this past Sunday. Me and a supercharged Range Rover. I just got on the interstate at 5am and he buzzed me at about 100 mph. Nope, no way could I let that go. I tromped it and caught him and cruised with him at about 110 mph and we stayed together for a couple of miles. I pulled up beside him at one point and he gave me the "let's go" pointing forward gesture. I honked and he gunned it with me doing the same about 1 second later. I passed him quite easily and I let off at 134 mph. I slowed and nestled back in behind him at we cruised at 120-130 for a couple more miles.
I'm such an idiot.
On a side note, I couldn't believe how steady and planted the E felt at that speed. Pretty cool.
