133 in the CLK320 in 2000 with no mods. My 97 E320 tickled 140 for a few minutes a few times. No mods there either.

In the US.. it's ranges from 55 on very busy freeways, to 65 on typical freeways, and 75 on the interstates between longer distances..

Cops usually will not ticket you for 10mph over the limit.

240 km/hr in an 04 E320CDI here in Germany on the A5. The car could have gone faster - I ran out of courage!

For what its worth, it was very quiet, no wind noise, and rock solid at the speed.

E200K + Audi S4
Maxed out 220km/h in a E200K on a highway (speed limit 120km/h, but police doesn't ticket you up to 150, 160, depends on your car). Done this just once to see if the car doesnt have any noises, problems (its very quiet inside at these speeds)

Maxed out 270km/h in a Audi S4 on the same highway (well, this was me in my other live, where I lived always at speeds bigger then 200km/h... now I never reached more then 130, 140)

Mercedes all the way!
heh "just to test" the E240, 220km/h on a country lane. trust me when i say i won't do it again on that particular lane, as i got into an "incident" i'm glad the combined might of my driving skills (10% probably) and Mercedes engineering (90%) got me out of without a scratch. car bumper needed a respray though :p

2001 CL 600
According to what I have read, the US version of the 2001 CL600 is supposed to be electronically limited at 155 mph (250 km/h). Without making any admissions, of course, I think it is limited to about 135 or maybe even a little less.

Does anyone know what may have happened to those 20 or so mph?

My E-500 only has 500 miles on it, but you just have to bust out a quick 100mph, that's just how it is!

In my Vette, 176 mph
408 CID Supercharged Stroker
Wilwood 6 piston Calipers with 14" rotors upfront and 4 piston Calipers with 13" rotors in the rear
Pulling out the leaf springs next week, going with coil overs on all 4 corners and slamming it to the ground, I have the power to hit 200mph.

The Benz, staying stock for now :v

my 1987 300SE doesnt belong in this forum.... but i think my top speed does...220 kmph, and i think it would have still kept goin till 230kmph atleast if given a road without radars every 6 km, with a speed limit of 140 kmph. this was after an engine rebuild, before that it maxed out at 205 kmph.

Did 155 mph in a 540i...those little white lines in the middle of the road go by pretty fast! Like others have said, even at those speeds, guys will pass you like you're sitting still!
Why are you driving a US spec car in Germany? Regardless, can't you speak with a service center to have them remove the limiter? All of the cars we have in Germany have had the limiters removed by a MB service center and they said they would do the same on any US spec cars we wanted to take European delivery on.

03 E500 and Corvette
E500 ............ 110 MPH
Corvette...........135 MPH Drove Road Atlanta 2000 test drive
F5................... 700 MPH Could not hear anything though faster than sound.

Watch for corvettes in the rear view mirror. Don't be suprised if they pass you for less $$ than a MB.
