well,

I wouldnt want it in 2009 ( w212). But right now I am seeing the lower ends about 25K - 30 K, It could be a matter of few months as the 2007 new face lift designs hit the market, could drive it down to 20K - 25K maybe before the summer is out..I just hate overpaying for any car ...that I m planning on keeping a while.

See the face lift elsewhere on the board without any coverings... It doesn't out-date our cars one bit, so it won't do anything to push down the price for that reason. The body is aging very slowly, and beautifully, so other factors will have to be the ones that "push" the resale values down.

Don't know how old you are but its possible you won't live that long!! Why not just spring for one now. You only go around once, this is not a dress rehersal.

the 03's are the earliest models you can buy preowned, 20 grand in probably 5 years or maybe one in 3 years with very high mileage.

You must find a higher mileage one. Mine has 55k on it and is worth about $27 for private party ('04 E320 - loaded - fair condition) just for reference (I am not selling it now FYI).

hey desibaba,

which type of auction are you taking about ? Are you talking about the copart.com , iaai, or highline auctions ?

I believe to even be able to buy one of these cars, you need to have a dealers license..

Thats a who;esale dealer auction and that price range is for high mileage average equipped cars. The numbers actually mean nothing untill you know the mileages and equippment of the cars sold.

well obviously i'm talking about wholesale auctions. Have you ever been to public auctions, they're a joke. I could get better prices out on the street then those public auctions. Now getting back to the regular auctions yeah these numbers are for cars that are stock with maybe one or more options. But hey if u could get in an E which is barely 3 yrs old, heck y not.

When the car is about 5 years old it will be worth about $20k. It is a pretty straight line depreciation starting about two years old.
