Mods, can you move this thread to W211 AMG? Just realized I put it in the wrong section. Thanks

Looks very nice. That is one station wagon I don't think anyone would want to mess with.

I think I like it, but from a practical point of view the owner had best stick to the very smooth roads with NO potholes. Low profiles do not leave much room to absorb these huge craters and we have seen any number of shattered wheels.

Nice looks,
John

Actually, 19" rims are not that low of profile on the E.

Nice wagon!!
Low enough to be very easily wrecked

Like your good self, I have seen lower, but they are merely posing mobiles and tend to say more about the owners??? Am I stirring the pot or wot??

When someone posts a picture and asks an opinion, I think it only fair to be honest. I would NEVER insult. Humour maybe, insult never.

I like the car, the wheels are very nice, but I would have to see them on the road and in my personal opinion those tyres are not suitable for everyday motoring where the car will have to negotiate some of the roads that I read about on this forum. There has been some horrible pictures posted of wheels that have literally shattered as a direct result of not going around pot holes.

The tyres do look nice on those wheels though

glojo: I know you aren't bashing and I appreciate your comments and manner. I was only saying what I did because I am currently deciding on new wheels. I was originally going to stay with 18s and go wider and lighter. After much research (and a few test rides), I am now leaning towards 19s. A few members have 20s (Jay55), and he is no poser. It is all in what you want. He acknowledges that the ride is more harsh. But, lets also keep in mind that everything in life is a compromise. It is plain and simple that a sportier ride requires more care than a smoother one. It is all in what you want. I'd take Jay55's ride w/ the 20s over one that has 18s and is "dumped" anyday. I am into the entire package, not just any one aspect. To me, there is nothing grosser than a car that bounces and has no suspension travel. To each his own!!

Totally 100% agree,
We must respect each others opinion, what a boring World it would be without the differing styles.

Good luck and respect

Good spotting.

Totally agree, what an obnoxious thing to actually print.

I always say,

Far better to keep mouth closed and let people think your stupid
Rather than open it and let them know

Ok, back to the thread. that is one of the BEST looking wagons I've seen. Are they the CLS55 or the new S AMG pack rims? Also, do you have any idea what weight difference between those and the stock E55 ones?

Do you notice any difference in ride quality? I assume a stiffer ride from the larger rims, but how about feeling in take offs and turn ins?
