I checked with the local MB stealership here in Ontario, Canada.
No recall - as usual.
Thanks,
Pitek
I received the safety recall letter from the MB today in the mail.
They admitted to the long-existing problem in... Canada.
They wrote: “We are working to obtain replacement parts to remedy this issue as soon as possible. Once we have the required parts, we will contact you again.”
I am waiting for the next letter from the MB to schedule this free repair.

Exactly. I am still waiting for any positive solution to the still existing and affecting so many 2006 owners - "balance shaft issue."
I have a 2007 E 350 that has a small fuel leak and is stalling. My mechanic told me that the fuel pump is bad and the whole tank has to be replaced for a cost of $3000.I have read the recall notice about this, however I never received a letter about it as I am the second owner.
Should it matter that I am the second owner, shouldn’t I still be able to get the repairs done under the recall?

Its a 15 year/unlimited mileage extended warranty. No matter how many owners, letter received or not, go to MB and get it fixed before your 15 years are over. If you go to your Indy shop make sure you get a detailed invoice. You can take that invoice to any MB dealership and they will put it in the system. Two weeks later you’ll receive a check over the reimbursement amount. That’s how we did it the first time. The seconds time we went straight to the dealership so we would have to pay it first and wait for the check.
I just called mbusa and gave them my vin, they told me it is not a vehicle covered by the recall, they told me it is a California vehicle if that makes a difference

Doesn’t matter. It’s a US not a California extended warranty. Just do what I suggested.
VIN? If independent is recommending whole tank replacement and MB mentions it is a CA vehicle may be PZEV covered by 15 year / 150,000 mile Emissions warranty.

FYI: Sliding Roof Bonding.
Spoke to MB today, blame COVID for parts delay.
Was told parts should be available and recall letters sent out by end of July.

Letters were sent out months ago. First owners went to MB already.
I know if at least two owners who which they wouldn’t have gone. Techs pulled on the glass too hard/wrong procedure and shattered a perfectly fine sun roof.
I know for a fact, neither of my 211’s sun roofs fell off in 15 years and I won’t let anyone test the bonding. If it didn’t come off in 15 years it won’t come off in the next 20 years either.
Recall Campaign 2020040011 6/20 – 2001-2011 203, 209, 211, 219 adhesion of the bonding between the glass panel and the sliding roof frame could deteriorate leading to a separation of the glass panel from the vehicle, dealer will replace the sliding roof. Approximately 641,843 vehicles affected.
Phase-2 released 7/20 sliding roof is replaced base on production date.

Be careful. Last week I saw a w211 with the recall and the sliding roof was very significantly separating
I have a roll of painter tape in the trunk just in case. Thanks for the heads up, I hope they are ok though and nobody got seriously hurt. Appreciate it.
Local dealer checked my 2003 E500, it was on the affected VIN List, but serial number of the sunroof confirmed no work was needed.
Said they had seen one other one come in so far also not needing any additional work, took them about 20 minutes to get a clear reading of my serial number though, it was apparently in a spot that made it quite hard to locate and read clearly.

If the complaint is eliminated by experimentally loosening the outboard collar nut (by 1 turn), the problem is due to cracking of the microweld between the wheel bearing inner race and the joint housing of the side shaft. The collar nut must always be replaced after being loosened. Coat contact surface of side shaft with wheel bearing with Molykote paint (MB part # 0009890152).
LI33.30-P-056665 SEPT20 – All Mercedes-Benz cars with front-wheel drive and 4x4 vehicles single throttle lift-off clunking noise from the side shaft when moving off (audible at the outboard end). The clunk is heard once when changing from forward to reverse (and vice versa). If the complaint is eliminated by experimentally loosening the outboard collar nut (by 1 turn), the problem is due to micromovement in the connection between the wheel bearing inner race and the joint housing of the side shaft. The collar nut must always be replaced after being loosened and must be tightened to the specified torque. Coat contact surface of side shaft with wheel bearing with Molykote paint (MB part # 0009890152).

My non-PZEV 2008 E350 got its new tank and fuel pump assembly under warranty on Tuesday. No more fuel smell so far.

I really wish that benz would do a major recall on the airmatic suspension, there are so many folks on this forum alone as well as the second benz forum that end up spending major bucks on the suspensions of these newer mercedes cars, my car is a 2003 with only 63k miles, and i had a front air spring go out, my car has been sitting for the last 3 weeks as i get the "Car to low to drive" error on the dashboard, my car is now out of warranty and the estimated repair is $1400.00, I have been waiting to scrape up the money for that front airspring, now the whole damn car is sitting dumped to the ground, talk about frustration....Benz just aint what they used to be, i would have never expected such problems from a newer car with low miles to have such costly repairs...a huge disappointment i tell you....So any suggestions and or help would be greatly appreciated.....
Was this addressed as I have the same problem too currently and its not good at a high cost. I live in New Zealand
I live in New Zealand do you know if there is a site using my vin number to check the recalls here I tried the site in this thread but it dosent work maybe as its usa im assuming..I'm having trouble with my airmatic suspension and ive just got the car 2nd hand and id like to check if any recall on it and maybe other bits I know the brake system was completed via recall but if possible to check myself instead of Hassel Mercedes-Benz in nz checking myself will also knowledge me more on my new car that already needs fixing and sitting parked as stop too low warning on the dash and front drivers side is slightly lower than the rest of the car so sad!
You are amazing! So what do I do with my new (to me) 06 e55 AMG? Do I roll-up to my dealer and exclaim “there is a new Sheriff in town! Check my card for all recalls NOW”?
Request dealer pull Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) this is a record of all work performed to your vehicle by any/all MB dealers and confirm there are no outstanding recall and service campaigns. Dealer discretion if they want to supply printout.
