Navigation has no street # capability?
Does the w211 navigation have an actually address map or do they just have a street navigation?
IE if I wanna go to address 1234 Warm Springs Blvd I can punch that in? I don't see this option on mine. It only allow me to enter street and city but no street address.
I went to MBUSA in the owner's section but didn't see a download for the command manual.

you can enter in an exact address, but it will not take you to that point.. just to the block that its on. I used to think BMW had the worst navi, until I got my E. That, and dont count on seeing any street names on the map unless you are zoomed ALL they way in, which is basically useless.

Thanks guys, this is what happens when you play with your car during work hours. LOL
Total disappointment on the Nav. TomTom and Iguidance on my Pocket PC works better than this.
Was hoping this would replace the need of the dangling craps in my car but guess not.

It will not give you the exact address number but a series of range of numbers. If you are looking for 1234 Warm Springs Blvd...it may show 1230 - 1250 and so forth.

For me, the ability to have auto mute, the announcements made over the audio system, the display on COMAND, the countdown in feet on the MFD, etc., outweigh the absence of mapping an exact address. I'd never abandon the factory navigation in favor of some ancillarly, hanging-on portable system.

I was there last month using Iguidance & TomTom and to my suprise, It found all of the places that i needed to go. Even some newer areas. Try that with our nice MB Navi.

This is the 4th NAV system I've used and I was expecting the worse. I was used to those from Lexus and Infiniti. Yes, it only takes you to the block and it doesn't display a lot of street names. But it has some serious advantages for me. You can enter an address while moving. There is no legal screen to punch through everytime you start the car. I like the way it displays directions and current street name in the MFD. I love it and use it more than in all of my more advanced past systems.
I have no experience with TomTom or some of the other hand held GPS units. I suspect they have better interfaces, but I'm not interested in carrying or storing yet another electronic box.

To me what's more frustrating than the system not identifying the exact street address, is not DISPLAYING the info on the screen as an easy tool for you to find it yourself once you get to the correct block. At least it would help the user to not have to have the address info written down somewhere else.
