Need new Tires what should I get ?

Hello All,

I have a 2004 E500 4Matic. I live in NJ where at times the snow can be bad.
Currently I have the stock Conti on the car with about 28K miles. I just noticed today I have a bubble on one tire and a slight gash on another tire.
The tread is getting low and I need new tires. The current tires are a bit noisy. Looking for advice on what to get. I need a tires that can handle the snow and with good traction in the wet. If possible less noisy.Tirerack recommended I get Bridgestone 960. Any other advice from expericenece here?

Thanks.

See Benz World. Dallas_E500 recommends Michelin PS2s for a nice blend of ride comfort, performance and quiet.
Wishing you safe motoring in your awesome car,
Joe

PS, what size-style wheels do you have?

2004 E320 4matic
I also have a 2004 4-matic and will soon be replacing the original Contis. Can't wait! Anyway, I have decided to try Nokian all-season. Anyone else have a set?

I couldn't agree more, I have PS2s on my personal car and absolutely love them. They provide a nice ride and fantastic grip in all weather conditions.

Guys, he needs a tire that will work in snow, so quit recommending the PS2s!! LOL. I never drive in snow so I can't give any recommendation other than to NOT get PS2s. I have PS2s and love them but there's no snow in LA

Oops! Didn't notice that. I have heard good things about the Bridgestone Blizzacks but then again I live in CA so I am not well versed on winter tires

I have had Yokahamas on my BMW 3 series. They are a great value for the performance you get out of them. My only complaint is they can be pretty noisy expecially when they are at their half life (50% worn). Of course, my 3 series was never as quiet as my E so it is possible you would not notice the sound difference.
