anyone confirm the number of 'start up/free' months Sirius activation with USA W211?
For those who have taken delivery of their 07 W211s, I'm wondering who can shed light on the terms of the Sirius factory install - there's been some back and forth in the forums over time about how MB 'should' give some initial startup time with the package.
Comments on what 'airtime', if any, 07 buyers get with their MB installed Sirius?

So, I said to Sirius how about a 30 day trial to see if I like it. Their answer"absolutely not". Great customer realtions from them too. Looks like a match made in heaven. They deserve each other as far as Sat radio is concerned. (I'l never get it now....so for a lousy 30days they lost a potential paying customer for good).

I do believe that Teleaid provides some "upgrade" options to give you updated traffic patterns. I don't haven't this "upgraded" service so I don't have all the details.
Give teleaid a quick call and see what they can do for you.
In regards to activation: according to the MBUSA website...there is NO CHARGE for activation. Under the Activation heading it says:
"Activate your SIRIUS service now. Call 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474). All you need to do is provide the electronic serial number (ESN) from your radio and your home mailing address. Activation is free."
I don't know whether that means for the original owner...or if there are any stipulations, etc... Here is the link from MBUSA's website:

EDIT:
If you get a CSR who doesn't want to work with you, try calling back and/or asking for a supervisor and explaining that you purchased an MB car that came with Sirius and they told you that it comes with 6 months free trial. If you have a letter written to you from MBUSA (assuming it is addressed to you), even better. Offer to fax it to them to show them what it says. MBUSA and Sirius have a contractual relationship and it's unlikely that a sirius supervisor would not honr a written letter from MB saying you get 6 months free. Just because 1 CSR says absolutely not doesn't mean that's the company policy, nor does it mean that a supervisor won't make an exception to get you to try the service. As a last resort, you could try to write to MBUSA, and include a copy of the letter they sent you with a note saying that Sirius has declined to honor the trial offer.

So I go to the dealer today and just couldn't resist the Abbott and Costello routine ( Who's on first ?)
SA : So what's going on ?
ME : I've got a Sirius problem.
SA : What is it ?
ME : It's Sirius
SA : How serious ?
Me : Very
SA : OK, what's the symtom ?
Me : No reception
SA : You're right, that is Sirius.
Me : Seriously ?
Bada Bing !
Back to the dealer today and diagnosis was a bad antenna. The new smaller type is primer colored so they will send out
for painting and install in a few days. The tech drove their "test route" with the new antenna taped to the lid and reception was excellent.
Barry, I know you've asked in a previuos post(s) last year (#9 https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...sirius+antenna) about the puck's constuction. If you never found out, here's the info. Cover held in place by a short plastic hex screw.
So, here's photo with the cover removed. The base/circuit board is attached to the lid by a threaded hollow bolt held by a nut inside the lid. Gasket attached to the cover. BTW, even though you can't tell from the photo, the factory installed antenna is painted body color (tectite gray)
The old antenna is a 2 wire design while the new one is a single wire. New one is held in place by a similar hollow bolt, however non removeable cover (one pc unit) so much cleaner looking, not to mention the smaller size.
