an E63!

Its pewter w/ P2, parktronic, electronic trunk closer, ad pano roof

didn't know my parents are willing to pay quite a bit more over the price of an E350.

I'm confused. Is this like going into Subway planning to get the regular sandwich, then ticking off the "double meat" option on a whim?

it was prbly not on a "whim", they were probably leaning towards an e350 but when they saw the car and expirienced it, they were swayed towards an e63

Uh-huh. And did they sway themselves, or did they get a bit of per-sway-sion from somebody else?

Awesome vehicle. I looked at an E63 and was so tempted. Very good choice. If I had the spare cash I would love to own one of those beasts, I can hardly imagine the acceleration you must get when you tromp the gas.
Great color too.
Enjoy!

my parents were so close to buying the e350.

After we test drove the E350 and as we were going to return to the dealership to do some paperwork, i suggested to my mom, "hey, why not try the e63 too?".

Then they agreed and my dad test drove the e63 back to the dealership from one of their storage facilities. And he told my mom that the steering is way better than the E350, not as touchy and light but heavier and firm. Also the car feels better during cornering. And the braking feels a lot stronger too.

After that they just couldn't pass on with just the E350. They wanted the E63.

Right. And did anyone along for the test drive happen to tell the folks that there is just a smidgen of difference in power between the E350 and the E63 - or is that a nice surprise for them to discover? ---

way too much car for American streets with 35mph & 65mph speed limits, but hey it's your money! be careful w/ the car, i've seen too many BMW M cars and AMG cars mangled up because the new owners aren't used to all the power.

+1 to that. AMG and M cars are just not worth having. I just went from an M3 to a 328i, the only difference is the lack of insane acceleration. Other than that the 328i can go just as fast as the M3 can on the street 45mph or 80mph freeways, you dont need 333hp to go 80mph. As far as handling the 328i is very nice, you really cant use the full 100% of the ability of the M3 on the street probably not even 25% of it. Not to mention the ride is so much smoother and relaxing in the 328i vs the M3.

Isn't your highway limit 80?

Going from Michigan's lenient 70 to Ohio's strict 65 is like murder.

I've assumed that people buy AMGs and Ms for the satisfaction of having all that power available if they care to use it, not for the thrill of actually using it on a regular basis. Nothing wrong with that.

Now, I suppose I'll hear from an E63 driver telling me how their car has reduced their 50-mile commute to 30 minutes ...

Out there on the interstates.

Which is cool because I just have to keep it under 160 to avoid arrest.

Anybody who feels that M & AMGs are a bit too much for them, donate to 'baba' fund anytime. i'll deal with the hassle of cops for them.
