Latest NAV disc update

Does anyone know what the release schedules at NavTeq are for new NAV update discs? My dealer has told me the latest and just released disc is 2006-2 (E, SLK, SL, CLS). Should I wait for a "2007" disc, or does NavTeq release those at the end of 2007?

2006.2 was just released last Friday. It doesn't get any newer than that. Part # BQ 6460223.
It will be at least 6 months before the next release, if not longer.

Just my luck. I took delivery last Thursday, mine came with 2006.1.
Should I make a stink with the dealer to get this newer version?

Wonder what the difference is between 2006.1 and 2006.2 and if its worth it to get it.

According to the tech at NavTeq, nothing dramatic, just the usual map updates, no change in functionality.

Navteq and Mercedes Benz are offering a very poor product

I am disgusted by the functionality and poor accuracy of the 2007 E350 nav unit. (Revision 2006.1) The nav system in my palm pilot (a Tom Tom Product) is far superior. The nav unit in my e350 provided me a 3 hour route for a location that is no more than 1.5 hours away. Before you start questioning my setup etc, I assure you that the unit was setup correctly and all limitations such as avoid highways; toll roads etc were set properly. I find it shocking that MB in conjunction with Mercedes Benz is providing such a poor tool in such an expensive automobile.

By reading past posts on this subject and others there is a clear vision being displayed by Mercedes. Increase the price of the product and provide the consumer with less.

NavTeq, if you are listening I implore you to produce a better product for the Mercedes-Benz customer. Your product is a direct reflection on NavTeq as well as Mercedes-Benz.

Don’t get the wrong impression, I do like the E350 as a total package but there are a few items which I consider to be very sub par.

I would request 2006.2, since your delivery was only one day short of the release. I’m certain they will not have a problem with your request. In addition, ask for a one-time free upgrade afterward.

FYI: Anyone placing an order or taking delivery in the course of your conversation request a one-time free navigation DVD update - most if not all will oblige.

Mercedes E350, E550s on it's way!
Hmm good to know, looks like I'm gonna stop by the dealership and pick one up tomorrow. Hopefully the infinite number of unmarked roads will appear now in my area.

I asked my salesman about this yesterday. He said he didn't know if they had 2006.2 discs avavilable yet in parts, but he would check & get back to me. No reply yet.

If it doesn't have Itchy Acres Road in Granite Bay and Mercedes Lane in El Dorado Hills, ask for your money back.
