My New Designo E350 Sport!
Hey there, I've been lurking for awhile and just wanted to post pics of my stunning new Graphite Designo E350 Sport....all I have to say is that it is amazing. I upgraded from a 2006 and let me tell you...the designo is well worth the added expense. The pleasure that you get as well as the individuality is really more than what I was expecting. I walk out to my car and it makes me drool...that's gotta be worth something Also, I just wanted to comment on how kick a$$ the Voice control and Bluetooth feature are on this car...it really wow's my friends and myself. All I have to do is do a ceramic tint on this and I'm golden....What do ya'll think?

I'd love to see a better picture of the seats. I was thinking about Designo, but my dealer never seems to have one on the lot and I had to get a feel for the difference before spending the extra $ for it. But I remember when shopping for my 06, I was very interested.

Here's more pics of the interior. It's a really nice dark grayish (with a hint of olive) with a reddish matte wood. The charcoal alcantera headliner makes a huge difference in the feel of the car....plus you get very plush carpets surrounded in black leather...very nice touches.

Looks really nice Congratulations - how does the leather feel compared to the Tex - is it much softer?
Is the Climate control on the 350 now the same as the 500/550 or did you have to upgrade?

That colour/wheel combo is terrific and I love the headliner!
No he must have upgraded if its a E350 because thats the automatic 4-zone digital climate control from the E550. The E350 (and below) get an updated system which includes a digital readout. Works much better!
//edit - I noticed the gear setting button - don't US spec cars get M (manual) mode with the Sport pack like Euro spec cars? Obviously not...but do you at least have something to change gears with behind the wheel, buttons, paddles??

To answer some questions: There are no paddles or an "M" mode on the US sport package. You just have controls via the standard touch shift on the gear selector. Also the Climate control system is the 4-zone from the E550/CLS550. It is STANDARD on all Designo models. The leather is amazing. The seats are more plush and the leather is so smooth. A HUGE difference with everything that you touch. This is by far the nicest car I have ever had (although I am only 26...lol)

I bought the 07 E Saks. Mine has the gray wood inside. I would like to have your wood in my car but there was no option for that on the ESaks.
Where did you buy your car?

Yeah, we're all driving something special... but it's nice to have something a little more rare. Enjoy it! I know just how you'll feel every time you slide behind the wheel.

Congrats! Beautiful car. Truly something special. MB has so many greys it's hard to keep track of. We ordered ours (my wife's) in flint grey. How different is that? Looks very similar on the outside from the pics. Didn't spring for the designo, although I'm very impressed. Ours is a sport, though, with the black leather. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing the pics. Gives me something to look at while we wait. Jan. 19th production date estimated delivery in March. I'm stuck driving the Volvo until the new E comes in, then I get my ML. Exciting on both counts. Enjoy the new ride. You are very fortunate.

While I am glad you like the car I am a bit shocked mb makes such a combo.
The wood looks like the dash on an 80's Ford LTD and the leather is some odd shade of green!
Clearly its in the eyes of the owner but I cant see spending 10% of a cars value to get some upgraded leather and paint. For the cost of that E350 you can get an E550. The used car value of a designo E350 car is well less than a stock E550.
Just my take. But again enjoy the car. The paint does look great so I cant disagree there.
Enjoy your new car!

The rarity of a designo alone is enough for me.

I know cars fall in value and we should not look at them as investments -- I know TOO well. But the special paint and leather option is basically throwing away money because used the car is worth the same as the car which cost 5k less when new.
If the owner loves it then great go for it but that wood just looks to bland for me. I personally disliked it when BMW did it with the 745i and when I saw it in the CLS I was shocked. Now it has found its way into the extra cost option designo package and I just cant figure it out! Polish that wood up and make it shine!
As for the leather there is a slight bit of green in it. Its not horrible but just not my cup of tea again. I have seen 2-3 E63's with this color package and they were not my first pick.

Yeah put me down for loving that type of wood finish also, looks like real wood not the plastic-looking (but still real wood) Mercedes and other use.
