Yet another Benz-O-Rama mod....(Illuminated door sills)

So my wife purchased me a set of illuminated door sills from formymercedes.com for Christmas. I spoke to my dealer about installing them and was quoted 750.00

My SA called me an hour later saying that a tech will do it under the table for 300.00. I offered 200.00 and he declined. We had mild weather in DC over the weekend and I said to myself "Self, you can do this in 2 hours or less, you pansy." So I gave it a shot. I used the method found here https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...ght=door+sills

Thanks AMGKOO!

The driver side took me about 1.5 hours because I was chicken but the passeger side only took me about 35 mins or so. At that point I was a pro. I ran out of time and didn't attempt the rear ones. If it stays warm I'll give it a shot. If not, it'll have to wait til Spring. Anyway, here are some pics.

Nice. I did mine a few months back and took me like 3-4 hours for front and rears. I found that some of the colors mentioned in the guide did not work and had to test current in some wires.

I got the "real deal" AMG ones through Steve at MBenzNL and LOVE them. I was going to get the Mercedes ones through my dealer first, but wanted AMG. I can't figure out why they don't sell the AMG ones in the US. Since then I have found a source for a number of Euro Spec Mercedes parts.

How much are the "real deal" ones? I think mine were like 175.00 or something like that. I wonder what the difference is? Mine look like OEM, if you ask me. But what the hell do I know?

Mine were about $1000 installed. It took a while to do it. I think my new source charges $400 for the genuine AMG ones. I haven't pushed for discounts, yet...
Also, Steve may sell just the units as well, and I don't know his price for that.

Sup fool!

It always amazes me how you're able to type when you stay HIGH all the time.

Pretty soon I'll be adding a super huge spoiler that don't match my paint, spinner hub caps, a bazooka sized muffler coming out from behind the rear wheels, NOS stickers, and strap a fire extinguisher to my 'A' pillar. Then and only then will dat whip be pimp!

Hopefully one day I'll be ghost ridin my dream car:
