Taking a leap of faith with iRotors

Welp,

I went ahead and ordered rotors on all 4 corners from iRotors.com and gonna get them installed tomorrow with new pads. I don't know of anyone here that's used these on a W211 but I'll keep everyone posted. Here's some pics. Aren't they purdy? Oh, and it looks like the blanks start out made in Germany.

Are they cast with the holes, or are the holes drilled in them afterwards? If it's the latter, keep a close eye for cracking around the holes after heavy braking.

Otherwise, they look great!!

Two fronts, and two rears.

I'm glad you posted the side view image which proves that the vents are directional -- I hope your installer realizes that these [front] rotors are "Right", "Left".

I'm assuming that the rear rotors do not have directional vents, or do they?

Regards,

paul...

The 2 on the left are front and the 2 on the right are rear. The rear ones are much smaller and much lighter too.

The dealership is installing them for me so I hope they would know the difference. Plus the boxes are marked L+R. And no, the rears do not have directional vents.

After doing a little more research, it appears that people are actually liking these things. I don't track the car and only make occasional panic stops to keep from killing the deer in my hood so hopefully these suit my needs perfectly.

Thanks for the update, and good luck with the rotors. What did you use for pads -- the OEM's (since you're getting them installed at a dealer)?

Regards,

Those rotors look mint Benz-O! I'm assuming these are not the BBKs? Please give us a review after the install.

They are asking 399.00 plus shipping. There is a little "Make Offer" button on the auction. I offered 250.00 and they declined. I then offered 285.00 and they accepted. With shipping it was like 350.00.

Here we go.

You can't see much of the rotors with my stock fat 5 spokes on there but you get the gist. Once I put my summer wheels back on, it should look pretty good

hey benzo, i had irotors and bought them through ebay, and no complaints, i later upgraded to Disk Italia brand from brakeworld.com, then after steve's last visit to hawaii, he convinced me that OEM AMG brakes was the way to go , and he so happened to have a set with rotors and spindles in cali waiting for me to buy them... damn , steve knows how to get me all the time...hehehe.

Hey man...

This is a pretty old thread that someone dug up. I had a horrible experience with these rotors. They warped severely within the first 4K miles. The company promptly told me to get bent after I contacted them.

OEM is the only way to go on these cars.
