I think the key is not how much you pay for the new one, but how much they'll give you for the used one. PS you did a great job negotiating on the 2006.

And you should negotiate the price before you order the new one.

You live in LA my guess is the dealer will have this color combo and options in stock. If you want the best deal its best to find one in stock and bargain down. They are going to be more willing to get rid of a car in stock than one they order.. Trust me they will come down several thousand if they have one in stock vs ordering.

You might not get 1 option you really want... But if you have time and call up a few dealers especially being in CA they should have one in stock. I know they had about 30 E350 in stock at 1 dealer in AZ and we have 3 of them. I am sure in close to you have more than 3 dealers.

I know its personal preference, but since you're ordering, might you want the W90 Designo option @ $90.00 to change the wood trim to the brown wood so it doesn't get lost in the black interior? It really pops against the black interior, and the blue windows make it obvious that the car has the Sports Pkg. Had I ordered the black interior on my car, thats what I was going to do. ...just a thought.

What did the 07 have over the 06 that pushed you to upgrade?

Me? My '04 was problem plagued. The only solution was to move on. Picked up the '07 a couple hours ago. NICE!

Your in the drivers seat before the order...... the dealer is in it after he has your deposit and the car comes in. Make your deal before the order. Sounds like an awesome car.

Yah here is the deal. My payments are $700 a month for 27 months. I want to be in the same price range. And I want to be in the same class car. I was considering the BMW 5Series but I’m just not that sure yet. I figured if I order a Benz and decide to go with the BMW the deposit is fully refundable.

I had a bit of a lemon too with Mercedes...transmission failure at 24,000 miles and numerous other problems prior to that. I now own a Lexus LS430 and a BMW 328i (this is my 3nd BMW) and I've never had a single problem with either car. Not trying to trash the new MB's....I drive them every year to see if I want to go back, then read all the posts here and am glad I went with Lexus and BMW. Never a single regret. Good luck with your choice. If you choose Mercedes, I hope you get a good one.
