It's just a setting, I just put it in the car and haven't set it up yet. I should have the programming instructions on Monday...

Hey guys, I just installed my Comand 2.0, the voice control, and the phone kit with the bluetooth puk from BMW.

It's at the dealer right not getting version coded, can't wait to use the phone tonight!

This looks pretty cheap and easy, however I have an 05 and my dealer quoted me over 3K to do the Job?!?! Is there something missing in the 05's that the 04's have to cut the price? What parts would I need in the 05 to make this work...I already know I dont need the compensator.

Ahh great ..... so mine isn't working.. it pairs with the phone but doesn't connect with the system..

My phone use to say in the dash screen
TEL
NO PHONE

Now it says
TEL
PHONE NOT CONNECTED

On the NAV Screen same thing, "Phone not connected"

I am wondering if I have a faulty PSE, or I am missing the relays in my car...?

I needed to install the fuses but I didn't know where the relays or which ones I needed to install.. maybe that's it.. but I figured it did have the relays because the puk and the voice control i have both lit up and started working when I did the fuses..

Any ideas anyone?? The FO loop should be correct as well no problems there since everything is working in the loop..

Mine did the same ****e! I went to the dealer and paid for 30 mins and they programmed it to work. I have Euro Command so my phonebook doesn't download but it works great otherwise...

Hey Benz-O - Long time no talk. Where did you take your car for the Bluetooth Version Coding? Was it Euro in Bethesda? I am still looking for a good Dealership and a good Service Advisor in the DMV area. Not too happy with Herb Gordon in Silver Spring or HBL in Tysons Corner. I recently ordered a cradle and puck and will need to get version coding.

WRT the OEM rims, I decided to put some good all season tires on them and use them for the winter.

I got mine done at EuroMotorcars-Germantown. If you need help installing the cradle, shoot up to my house....I can help. It's real easy. I have the step by step instructions if you want them.

I still think my (um, your) MRR's look better on your car.

Don't worry about the rims, I just ordered these:

What did you tell them to get it done for 35 instead of 115 bucks?

There's no way I can teach you the subtleties and intricacies that goes into greasing doormen, mechanics, bartenders, strippers and pharmacists. It's a talent that I've groomed through years and years of trial and error.

Oh wait, scratch all that. It went like this:

Dealer - That will be $115.00 for activation.
Me - How about I give you $35.00 cash?
Dealer - DEAL!

It was that simple.

What is the cost for OEM bluetooth install? There are some aftermarket kits for <$1000, but for a $60K car, I want to retain OEM specs/parts. Also can you buy the required parts online rather then local dealer?. Thanks, Scott.

OEM retrofit for you car is a lot more than retrofit for the 2003-2004 W211's. I think for your car, it runs somewhere near 1200.00, just for parts. If you have the dealer do the install, you're looking at 2000.00+ IIRC

Talking Bluetooth Install help - E500 sport

Hi I'm new to the forum,

Have a 2003 E500 Sport. No navigation. Never had phone installed on my vehicle. I want to use bluetooth. So all I need to install is PART# Q6820828 (Cradle w/short chord etc.) and B67875856 (Bluetooth Puck) have it version coded, maybe update command system and it should work?

Is it that easy? Please let me know I've been looking for this for EVER!

Thanks

You don't need the Q part number. Just the puck and you can use the Bluetooth capability of you cell phone!

Hmmmmm, does you car have the COMAND and just no nav? Or does it not have the COMAND at all?

If you have COMAND, then yes, those parts #'s are correct. Not sure if you can have bluetooth without COMAND.

Yes, you need the Q part #, which is the cradle. What's he supposed to plug the puck into?

He has an E500. Just plug the puck into the connector under the false bottom of the arm rest just as I did! No cradle required!

I think you're referring to the "Puck with tail" product. That is not the part# that he listed. But yep, there's 2 ways

1. Cradle and puck (part #'s he mentioned) This is the original OEM install method.

2. Puck with tail - It's the bluetooth puck with wires coming out of it (No cradle needed). This was designed only within the last year or so and leaves you with a puck flopping around in your armrest. But yes, this is also a viable option.

Either way, I think you need COMAND, but not 100% sure on that.

Ok that sounds good. so I have those 2 options. I'm not sure if I have a command. What is a command? (My stereo has a tape deck, CD Player and I have a TEL button on it) Don't I need a mic to you these parts?

I'm going to attempt adding Bluetooth to my car using the B/T Short Chord puck next week. Will I be able to read SMS on my command?

I have the B/T puck installed, and the SMS feature is disabled.
