AHA! You have to store voice tags! LOL ... I didnt know that! I was like, why wont it dial a name???!! Now that I know this I will probably use it more.
The reason I say it was sort of a dissapointment is because of the lack of navigation control with it. My last vehicle was a 2004 acura TL. It didn't ride as nice but it came with all of this standard. I could say things like "find nearest <insert whatever>" possibilities included <insert type> restaurant, gas station, atm, bank, shopping etc etc etc
I still like it though. Also, is it normal for the phone system to stay on? I'd disconnect from the system when exiting the car and the phone and car would continue to "re-pair" and transfer my call back to the car. Even after it was locked? Is that going to be a problem with my battery?

My phone stays paired with my car after I pull into the garage, shutdown and go inside. But, it only stays paired for about 2 minutes or so. I guess it takes a few minutes for the car to go to sleep or whatever. No battery problems whatsoever.

I have a BT Razr, and I accidently hit the phone button on the dashboard, and it says Insert Phone. Does that mean I have the puck installed, and if not,how can I turn this off, and get my regular display back. I've would've had it for five months on 6/9,and am still learning what it does, mainly from you guys. Thanks for any,and all replies received.

Ruffrob, no you don't have the puck yet... and you would still need it. Lucky for you the 03 and 04 E's have a nice communication module.. so basically you ALREADY have the phone kit in the car.. you just need the cradle for your RAZR or get a v60 cradle and the bluetooth puck... OR to be very soon released "puck with tail." Since your RAZR is supported by MB and AWS if you got the puck with tail and then have your dealer setup your phone to "fitted" in the Star computer (and maybe do a software update to the AGW) you should be live with your bt phone.
Check out the ARGOS thread on this forum and my post on the puck with tail ( or do a search ;-)

I have an '04 CLK500 and it already has a port under the Tele Aid buttons. Which part would I need then? Just the cradle, holder and puck? Will the part numbers listed on page one of this thread work for the CLK as well?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

Part No. for "Puck with Tail"
Can someone please post correct part no. for the puck with tail? Can't seem to locate it. Also, is it actually available at Parts departments?

I'd give them one more chance. If they don't actually improve, then we'll hunt for another vendor.

Anyone see this newsletter from Argos?
I bit late, eh? They're claiming they're 1 month away. That seems like a familiar projection...

First off I want to say thanks to everyone - the information in the forum is top notch.
I recently followed the installation described and I am not getting anywhere. To begin with, I installed the components and paired my phone. All seemed to be ok. Upon bringing my car to MD and being charged $125 - my car still does not work. The MB tech said I needed the Linear Compensator and without that the phone is not going to work.
I found that hard to believe based on what you guys have stated and left pissed off.
At this point the phone is still not working. I am getting the "Please Insert Phone" dialog on the screen as stated.
How can I test the installation on my end? Should I atleast hear the phone through the speakers, etc. I am using a Moto Q phone - not sure if that makes a diff or not.
Any information would be helpfull.
Thanks in advance.

You definitely DO NOT need the linear compensator. I did not install it and mine works fine. It did take the dealer some time to figure out how to version code the car though. The original tech kept telling me that it couldn't be done. Finally, the shop foreman got involved and he had it done in 5 minutes.
What dealer in MD did you take your car to? I took mine to EuroMotorCars-Germantown. Maybe you'll have better luck there.

I had the exact same experience! They worked on it for over an hour, came back and said it can't be done. One of the senior techs came over, and was looking at it, he took it back into the bay and had it working in just a couple of minutes... Good luck!

I bought the V60 puck and cradle on ebay, installed it in 30 minutes, and did the version coding and guess what?.. IT IS WORKING .
I've tried the razor and treo 700p from verizon and they paired and downloaded the phone book easily.
thank you guys for this wonderfull thread, and by the way can someone figure out a way to improve the NAV system.

EuroMotorCars-Germantown
I live near EuroMotorCars-Germantown and called there yesterday about installing this device in my 2004 E320. The guy I spoke to seemed to not really understand what I was talking about and told me it would cost $2200. Who's you contact over there? Maybe it's better to buy the part online and just go in for the software update?
