OK, Why "distinguish" between the 2 Smartkeys
I do have the "Key dependant" turned on as well as the "Steer. Col.. + seat".
In my '02 Caddy Deville it was ownwer programmable whether the memories would resume at "Unlock" or "Key in ignition"... Guess which one makes sense?

In my Caddy, you had to pre-memorize the exit position, and thats where the seat would travel to upon exit, (so the owner, not the manufacturer is responsible for any feet squashing). With MB, they have determined the exit position. Early on, people here were reporting that their dealers would re-set the exit position with their Star Laptops, to a more further back position.
I guess MB figured that there was too much complaining about this frivolus item, so they turned it off in the American car's software.
In the '07, they seem to have turned off anything that American owners *****ed about, so that there would be no complaining, which would help restore their customer satisfaction scores. Personally, I'd rather everything that's in the car works perfectly, & stuff that was flawed get the hook.
