I bought an Oreck which was useless.

I understand Metro Vac makes a good one although I haven't seen one in person.

At Target, you can find Dyson's new cordless vaccum. It's hands down the best you can get!

This isn't target, but it's the Dyson:

thanks for the info....

But from customers review, dyson doesn't seem to be all that..........?
And most importantly...it is damn expensive.

You're driving an MB and $100 bucks is too expensive for a quality 12v vac?
Floor mats cost more than that.

I don't have the mentality thinking driving a Mercedes will have to buy the best of everything. I always been careful spending on something that depreciate the moment you left the store. Real-estate is different story.

Is it totally out of the question to get a power inverter so you can use a higher quality corded small handheld vac or a small canister that you can use in the house as well? I think the corded handheld vacuums will do much better. Just a thought.

The Dyson isn't 12v and requires batteries. The reviews in the site quoted above are quite poor.

I have it and I love it. The reviews are poor, but so what?

Go to target, buy it, if you don't like it, return it!

Don't expect the power of a plug-in vac, you'll be disappointed. Hence the poor reviews. Their uprights are so damn powerful, that these cordless variations don't even compare. But, for your car, they're great. You don't need tons of suction unless you've got some 4x4 with inches of mud to lap up.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I think power invertor is goooooooooooooooooooooooood idea.
I should visit the boat shop where they have power invertor that hook directly to the battery in my trunk.

I bought the dyson specifically for my car. I failed to find any decent 12V battery. I tried power converters. Believe me the Dyson is the best way to go. You have to be quick, though. It runs like a strong 110v vac, but only for 5 minutes.

It's $150 at Best Buy and everywhere else. I'm very pleased with it.
