Again, thanks. Of note versus post 206 of this thread is that there's no mention of bluetooth.

I'll let you know how things turn out tomorrow.

Again, different software version. They might change stuff here and there.

Hi Mack. Closing the loop.

All is well. Dealer charged for one hour of labour, but I'm not going to complain because they gave us an E-wagon loaner, and re-did front shocks and ball joints on their nickel.

My Blackberry 8310 pairs fine. The wife's LG 9100 might not be as co-operative. Does not want to seem to dial from the address book in COMAND. She can still receive fine, and call out using the phone's keypad, though.

Again, thanks for all your patience with my enquiries.

I just found out what it is and where it goes. See pictures below for everyone who is still interested and who still has the 2 screws, the plastic plate and the sticky pad.

Just make sure the plate gives the puck enough room against the 2 walls (rear and side wall).

Happy Re-Modding

I have praised the puck before under this thread and everything has been working fine for quite a while now until recently. All of a sudden, without any notification on my phone itself (Blackberry), the Comand screen shows that it is making a phone call to an unknown number. I can't turn it of with the dashboard button, it has to get turned off by pushing the red button on my phone. It shuts off the call. 20 seconds later, same thing happens again, 20 seconds later, again etc. etc. I deleted the puck from my Blackberry Bluetooth setup and re-installed. Same problem. As a last resort, I'll try to pair my wife's phone and see what happens, but other than that, I am out of ideas. Anybody has had this before?

I have tried that, but no luck either. It just keeps on trying to connect from the car to the phone. Even with the car deleted from the Bluetooth list in the phone. I'll try disconnecting the puck over the weekend. See what that does.

It does work with iOS 4. I have an iPhone 4 and have had no more problems than I had with my iPhone 3G. The phone book downloads just fine.

You can only download the phone book if you're using a US COMAND. Euro COMAND doesn't let you download the phone book b/c it is based on the analog TeleAid which is a US option and not available in Europe.

Good so the government cannot track where you're driving

Does anyone know if this puck with tail will work with the Sprint EVO? I have a '04 E55 and I know that the puck with tail B6-7-87-5855 will work with my car.... but I don't want to spend the dough only to find out that the EVO's android OS isn't compatible. Thanks!

Should! I mean it's BT and BT is a standard protocol. Only exception is that some BT ICs don't support the phone book download but I can care less about that since I have a Euro COMAND in my car and that doesn't understand the AT commands anyways to do that.

I recently bought a puck for my 2004 E320. I installed the device, however my system still shows "Phone not Installed", and the puck continues to blink instead of lighting up solid as per the instructions. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do?

Needs to be programmed in 2 different locations with Star Diagnosis and paired with your phone afterwards. Blinking means it is looking for a BT device in range.

Thanks for the feedback Mackhack. Can you tell me where I can find programming instructions? What is the Star Diagnosis is that a tool or programming application?

Dealer has to enable steering wheel buttons for phone/iPod usage and enable puck in Information Systems. I'm not at home so I can't tell you exactly the Menu in DAS. Send me a PM this afternoon if you still need the information and I will look it up for ya.

Your dealer should know since he charges you to version code your car though.
