Stupid Little Holes :-(

So I get the car detailed, and the guys actually screw on the front license plate. They claim I told them to do it, and they will not fix it! So mad...

Anyways, any creative ideas on how to cover the 2 holes up? (besides bondo or replacing bumper)

THANKS!

JESUS!!! I would be sooooo pissed. I think the only way to do it right is to take it to a body shop and have them fill the holes and repaint. I would also go after the detailer who claimed that you told him to do that and make him pay for it.

Where was the plate when it was not attached? How did they attach it? ... I take it that they didnt have the USA style front license plate "fixture" to attach to the bumper first.

You're telling me! I am really pi$$ed off about it. It's the law in Chicago that you have a front plate, but I have never put it on any of my cars. Only got one ticket when I left it at O'Hare for a week while I was on vacation. I guess they had nothing better to do except ticket us "no front plate" types...

Any idea how much it costs to fill and paint? Has anyone ever had it done? Do they have to repaint the WHOLE bumper!

Actually, the fixture was in the trunk, so yes, its on. It doesn't look like total crap, but not as slick as no plate at all.

We have the same law here in Ontario and i 've been getting tix for not displaying plate.I got the plate fixture, some double sided tape, make a picture for the court (they always drop the charge) and i'm good til the next one.

Gee...Here is a novel idea...why not obey the law and install the front tag like you are supposed to...

I am always amazed at folks that whine and are P.O.'d at things when they are in the wrong...whining about speeding tickets, etc. I get tickets occasionally. When I am wrong, I admit it, take my lumps and try to learn from my mistakes...

Don't take this the wrong way...I would be real P.O.'d to if someone did that to my car...however...maybe now is the time to make it legal.

Just because something is "legal" doesn't mean it makes sense.

I for one am sick of nanny state laws increasingly telling how to live, breathe and even pass gas. Enough already. Ever notice of speed limits are getting lower and lower, all the while law enfarcement ramps up their even sneakier methods? First it was vascar (sp?), then radar, then laser and, finally speed cameras. Welcome to "Big brother".

I thought about that. Now thats its on, leave it on because its the law. BUT, I have to wake up everyday and see that ugly thing (in my opinion) on the front of my car, and it drives me nuts! To each his own, right?

Hey... How about NY State's hideous Safety/Emissions inspection sticker, and current years registration sticker on the front windshield. Huge, constantly falling off the glass, poorly pre glued, and horrific colors.

How about vinyl stickers on the rear plate... top right for inspection, top left for registration?

...and why is a NJ registered Brand New car emission/inspection due so infrequently untill its old, & the same car across the Hudson in NY, has to be inspected every year starting at mile zero? Its the same air. NY Metro Area.
