What's an appropriate price?

What's an appropriate price?
Dealer is offering an '07 E550 w/ 9500 miles on it. Car was used by one of the dealership execs; never been titled. Am I right in thinking I should be able to pick this up for several thousand below invoice? I don't want to make an offer and look silly. Also, is there any reason I'd want to shy away from this car?

Fair enuf
MSRP is 66815; invoice is 62283. Don't know what dealer is asking yet. I was just trying to get a sense from those with more saavy than I in these matters (i.e., almost all of you) what I might reasonably expect to get this for. I also saw that MB is offering dealers 5K incentive on these cars. How does that figure in? Sorry if this is basic stuff.

Considering the $10,000 in incentives, I would say right around $48-50,000 would be as high as I would go. My dealer has a new '07 E550 4matic stickered at $68k that he is selling for $53k

That's what I figured
but given that it will be under warranty, should I be concerned? Frankly, I sort of feel happy to let the dealer take the first year's depreciation.

Since it has never been titled, your title will say "New" not used. At trade in time thats a plus. Technically you are the 1st owner. If you are going to keep it, see what kind of deal they are willing to give you on the MB extended warranty, if youre so inclined, and will keep the car longer than 4/50 from the day it was placed in service on MBs computers. If you will be keeping it, you will want to be covered, and you can negotiate a very good price on it now, as a condition of sale. (The dealer wants to get rid of all the '07s!)
You WILL enjoy the car. It a really great product.

I agree with most of what you say. I would say that if it was a test drive car, then all bets are off. I don't know about you, but the test drive car I drove had less rubber on the tires when I returned it to the dealer, not to mention the car was cold when this abuse happened. Multiply that by who knows how much. People don't test drive 550s gingerly...
A far as the title goes, I think once it hits a certain number of miles it is considered used. After all the title will say 9500 miles on it...
OT- Barry we should set up a LI GTG...

It's a demonstrator....
and should be priced as a one-year-old car with 10K miles. The fact that it hasn't been titled may not mean a thing. In dealing with them, try to get an extended warranty at little or no cost.

Interesting, a search through MBUSA shows a couple of 2007 E550s with similar miles and options priced at $59,900. Do people typically negotiate listed CPO prices down?
