Best Exterior Color
I am new to the forum but have been an MB owner since 2000 (E430 Sport).
I purchase my last MB new and would like to get a W-211 to replace my W-210.
Besides deciding which model to purchase ( E350 or E550) I am leaning towards Black or Sienna Black with Sahara Beige Interior.
I live in Florida and have owned MANY colors including Black, Green, Red, Silver, White, etc. I know the work involved with Black exteriors compared to Silver, grey or white (my current E is silver). But, in my opinion the E looks most regal in Black. Since the temperature exceeds 100 F routinely I want a light interior to go with the Black or Sienna Black.
Which of the two "blacks" do you prefer? There are just too many silver and white cars in my area and I want my E to stand out from the crowd.
Also, is the AMG package worth getting since the sport package comes free?
Do you get better seats with the AMG package?
Thanks,
MBLoyal

Anyway I just responded to your last post, 350 vs 550. I was considering white and silver (my favorite) but my lease is over and I had the silver and selected Flint Grey with Black.
AND YES YES YES the 321 AMG package is worth the $2,000. Great steering wheel, and that is what you hold while in the car. The front bumper is extremely aggressive and I have always like that look. I was thinking of adding the amg body kit to my last E500, BUT it was around $5k. SO I ended up getting the E350.
Sit in a non AMG and then the AMG, grab the steering wheel. It is then over. Where do I sign.
I would highly recommend the person (Jackson Brown) that I got my car from. Mercedes of Pompano, Pompano Beach, Fl.
- tell him that Robert with the Ferrari recommended him.
- I just got my car last week, tuesday : )
- also the bluetooth is not active, you have to purchase the modulator for $430 + tax. BUT it is worth it. IMO
good luck and let us know the outcome.

Thanks. I am leaning towards the Sienna Black, Sahara Beige, Both Packages,
AMG, parktronic and NOW the bluetooth activator/modulator ($430 seems steep). Ideally (depends on MB quality in 2010) I would like to keep the W-211 5 years. But, if MB has quality issues like in '03 I will keep it 6 years.
So, I will purchase the car plus extended warranty for peace of mind.
I WILL be getting the AMG package but those 18 inch wheels seem SMALL.

I bet over time.. you will see that the light colors will age better too... we are on the verge of a body change... and the dark colors will look dull.
to bad you are in FL.. up north.. nobody has white cars.. the tan and white is a great combo.. do they make a silver and tan? that would be pretty nice too.

Black really is a classy color and helps when you also chrome the wheels. I also think Silver is very nice.
I happen to like the darker colors (including Capri Blue, which I have had on an S and on an E) but its really up to you. My only -- and very strong -- piece of advice is that you cannot pick colors from the Internet or from a brochure. You absolutely must see the car in person, in daylight.
I went w/ the 321 AMG Pkg. Anything AMG always looks good in black.
Yes, its going to be a maintenance issue, but I'm willing to put in the effort to keep the car clean.

This would get my vote.

After all, color choice is VERY PERSONAL. So, its all depend on what U like not others...
Also, what interor color goes best with the white? Charcoal?

After the discussion/opinions here and another visit to the MB dealer I have three colors on my list:
1. Silver
2. White
3. Black
I don't think I can deal with Black. I have a black 4 Runner and when clean it looks fantastic. But, it shows scratches easily and gets more visibly dirty than white or silver. The Sienna Black is off the list as I am not thrilled with the dark brown color in the sunlight.
I am not sure about the cashmere interior. That beige color seems weird to me. Perhaps, it would grow on me. I have ash now and it is fine but a bit boring. Any comments on cashmere interior color? Thanks.
