2012 E 350
E320 Diesel vs C350 Sport

After 4 years without a MB, ready to buy again. Hoping past problems with co are history.
What do you enthusiasts think between the above? I love the look of the new C Sport and the car seems almost as roomy as the E class. Had planned to get the Bluetec for its economy, but $20,000 more buys a lot of gas. I only drive 10-12K a year.
Would love your thoughts

The new C350 is really worth a look. You could get EVERY option and still be way below the base price of an E320, and you would have a decent navigation system instead of the POS they put in the E-Class. Plus, the new C350 looks amazing in person, especially with AMG wheels. I parked my E550 next to one last week, and it made my car look old.

Will you trade your E for a 2008 C350, let along fully option?

I think you missed the point of my answer.

The original poster is considering purchasing a V-6 diesel E-Class or a V-6 gas C350. He asked for our thoughts regarding these two choices, and is concerned with economy as well as purchase price. The new C-Class is a fresh design, and the current E-Class has been on the road for about 5 years. If money is a factor in his decision, and if the C350 is big enough to suit his needs, I think it might be a good choice for him.

C350 Sport is a great car, better features and the design makes the C stand out but still the E has the luxury than sport. If you are looking for fuel economy then the Blutec would be the answer. Keep in mind the new designed E is expected to come in late 2009 or so. I have the 2008 E350 and I don't have any regrets space, features and ride is what I expected from this car. Test drive them both and you will decide but I'd go for the E, if you ask me

Cyclerider-thanks for your input. What is wrong with the E Nav system?

The E320 CDI will hold its resale value where as a C350 will drop like a bucket of rockets the moment you drive it off the lot. The CDI's are pretty rare and are in demand, the C350's are a dime a dozen. If you plan on holding on to this car for a significant amount of time go with the CDI as you will not take that big of a bath on resale.

I think the navigation in the E is great. Also, to echo what was said before, diesel MBs always have the best resale.

If you opt for European delivery (very good idea, IMO). You can get a Bluetec with every option and still save quite a bit of money.
